Katy Perry shares behind-the-scenes snaps in MERMAID costume for Las Vegas hotel ad

Katy Perry shared some behind-the-scenes snaps of herself in a mermaid costume for her new Resorts World commercial.

The 36-year-old pop act appeared just as she did in the ad, including the long blonde locks styled by Jesus Guerrero.

Her face was sharpened by a makeup job from Michael Anthony who had delivered an aquatic feel with Katy’s cosmetics.

In her new Instagram album Katy could be seen in costume lounging on a folding chair on what appeared to be the warehouse set of the ad.

One particularly evocative snapshot showed her lounging on top of a box full of LED supplies from the brand ROE.

Katy, who joined a star-studded cast in the ad, made sure to tag the dashing director and photographer Rony Alwin. 

She reunited with her American Idol co-judge Luke Bryan in a surreal new ad for the upcoming Resorts World Las Vegas hotel. 

Carrie Underwood and ‘Queen Of Vegas’ Celine Dion, 53, also starred in the commercial which featured DJs Tiesto and Zedd. 

Zedd and Tiesto have already booked residencies at the Strip hotel which opens in June – so the ad may be a hint that Celine, Katy, Carrie and Luke are joining in. 

Celine famously had a 16-year residency in Las Vegas before bringing the curtain down on the act just two years ago.

Meanwhile last month Billboard carried a report that Katy was planning a residency for this year and next year at Resorts World.

As far as her personal life goes Katy welcomed her firstborn daughter Daisy Dove last August with her smoldering fiance Orlando Bloom.

She was previously briefly married to English comedian Russell Brand whilst he shares his son Flynn, 10, with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
