The new series will take place several years after the events in the original film, following a group trying to save a kidnapped prince.

The members include Dove (Bamber), a kitchen maid trying to prove she is ‘the chosen one,’ Kit (Cruz), the princess whose brother was abducted and Jade (Kellyman), a servant who is also Kit’s ‘best friend and moral compass.’

Chadha-Patel has been cast as the fourth member of the group named Boorman, who has similarities to Val Kilmer’s Madmartigan from the original film.

Boorman is described as, ‘a thief and a liar,’ who only joined this noble quest in an effort to get out of prison.

There is no word yet as to how Davis’ character, Willow Ufgood, will fit into this new storyline.

The original movie followed Ufgood, a farmer who reluctantly leads a ragtag group to protect a very special baby from an evil queen trying to destroy her.
