Last Friday, Lavigne and Mod Sun released a stripped down visual for the acoustic version of their emotional ballad Flames.

And in an interview with People, the Complicated hitmaker gushed about the song and about her partner in the recording studio.

‘He’s an incredible artist and producer,’ she said of Mod Sun. ‘This is the first of many. Proud of what we made with Flames.’

She went on: ‘Flames is a very special song, I love how the acoustic version turned out. It really brings another layer of emotion to the song.’

The visual, released on YouTube on Friday, showed the rock duo seated near one another, with back up singers positioned behind them.

Avril strummed her guitar and sang, while Mod Sun solely focused on vocals.

Flames is featured on Mod Sun’s album Internet Killed the Rockstar, with a deluxe version set for a May 7 release.
