Chris Pratt fights for mankind as he is transported 30 years into the future to join battle against alien species in new The Tomorrow War trailer

Chris Pratt plays a man transported 30 years into the future in order to save mankind in the action-packed new trailer for The Tomorrow World.

In the film, Pratt plays Don Forester, a teacher and family man who time travels decades into the future in order to join the battle against an alien species wrecking havoc on civilization.

The teaser begins with a bang, with aircrafts flying over a burning city as a female solider declares, ‘We are fighting a war 30 years into the future.’

Subsequent scenes include shots of Pratt slowly prowling through a building with shattered and blood-stained glass.

The actor wields a gun as he slowly inspects the room.

The trailer ends with Pratt waving his flashlight into the ceiling, before a mysterious force jumps out.

Pratt’s character in the film works with a band of soldiers to time travel 30 years forward to 2051 with a key message to deliver in the battle against aliens invading the earth.

Pratt is joined in the cast of the time-traveling film by Yvonne Strahovski, who plays a scientist; J.K. Simmons, who plays Forester’s estranged dad; and Betty Gilpin.

The film was slated to debut late last year, but was sidelined amid the coronavirus pandemic that shut down theaters. It was subsequently sold to Amazon in a deal estimated around $200 million earlier this year, Variety reported.

Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke called the film ‘a global event that will surprise and delight our customers around the world.’
