Sam Burgess’ ex-wife Phoebe reminds fans to practice ‘self love’ as she sips tea and poses with a designer candle inside her family’s Bowral estate

She’s the former WAG who balances single motherhood with her busy work schedule as an Instagram influencer.

And Sam Burgess’ ex-wife Phoebe, 32, took a well-deserved timeout on Wednesday as she spent time relaxing in the dining room of her family’s sprawling Bowral estate.

Posting to Instagram, the glamazon uploaded a photo of herself posing in an orange blouse while sipping tea and admiring the scent of a newly-lit candle.

Smelling the roses! Sam Burgess’ ex-wife Phoebe, 32, (pictured) uploaded the photo of herself sipping tea and admiring the scent of a newly-lit candle on Wednesday, alongside a caption reminding fans to practice ‘self love’

‘There is something so special (and rare) about taking a timeout (whether you’re a mummy or not) to practice a little ‘self-love’. It’s precious,’ the former journalist wrote in the caption.

‘For me, my little ‘pause’ usually takes place when my monkeys are sleeping or at school….(obvs). When the universe makes this happen, there is nothing better than; putting the to-do list down, pouring a tea and lighting your favourite scent.’

The Southern Highlands social media queen went on to spruik the brand of her designer candle, describing the scent as featuring ‘heavenly notes of cashmere & wild lavender’.

Phoebe’s carefree post comes days after she lifted the lid on the harrowing aftermath of her split from her NRL star husband Sam Burgess.

The Burgesses separated in October 2019, after previously splitting in December 2018 just weeks after the birth of their son, Billy, and reconciling four months later.

Speaking to Stellar Magazine earlier this month, Phoebe admitted that there are days she wants to ‘break down’, but the support of her family – and motherhood – have been her saving grace.

‘Motherhood is something I took for granted for so long. I mean, some days it was a real inconvenience,’ she told the magazine.

‘But in the past 18 months, it’s literally been everything. It’s why I’m here. It’s why I haven’t checked out.

‘I have days when I want to give up and fall apart and I just want to break; I want to go to sleep and not wake up for a while, for everything to stop, but you can’t.’

She added: ‘It sounds awful but being trapped in motherhood and being trapped in responsibility has saved my life. [My children] are my purpose, and when you have that purpose nothing can drag you away from them.’

Phoebe, who shares daughter Poppy, four, and son, Billy, two, with Sam, said  she was still ‘in a daze’ after her marriage breakdown, and that she’d experienced, ‘a lot of pain, a lot of trauma, a lot of ugly stuff’.

However she has relied on her family – parents Sarah and Mitch Hooke – as well as her sisters, Harriet and Jemima, building an ‘idyllic’ and ‘beautiful little life’ at their picturesque rural estate.
