Married At First Sight’s Ines Basic is targeted by scammers who hacked her charity candle business – leaving her terrified that her personal information will be sold on the dark web

Former Married At First Sight star Ines Basic has been targeted by scammers who used her private information to hack into her candle business.

The 31-year-old called the ordeal a ‘nightmare’ after the website and Instagram account for her charity candle line was taken down by hackers.

Speaking to fans on Instagram, Ines admitted that she’d been fooled into turning over all her private information in a phishing email – and she’s now scared that it could be sold on the dark web.

‘Someone decided to hack my account and scam me in the process,’ she said.

‘I thought I got this email from Facebook and Instagram to retrieve my account, so I passed on all this personal information and documentation,’ she said.

‘I just don’t understand where all my documents will go. Where will they go? They’re gonna be sold on the dark web, hey?’

The reality star then said that Facebook was investigating the incident, but she wasn’t sure if it would be able to be resolved.

The scam was made even worse by the fact that Ines’ candle company donates money to a children’s charity.

Ten per cent of profits from each sale is donated Charity Bosnian Kids – a non-profit organisation helping feed children in schools and families across Bosnia.

The organisation is a cause close to her heart. The reality star was born in Bosnia, prior to arriving Australia.

The candle line, called By Ines, was only available in Australia, but Ines was in the process of organising an international shipping option.

Back in March, the brunette beauty confirmed that she was done with reality television and was instead moving forward with her candle line.
