Married At First Sight’s Rebecca Zemek admits she DID cheat on ‘husband’ Jake Edwards

Rebecca Zemek has finally admitted that she did cheat on ‘husband’ Jake Edwards after previously denying it.

In an interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle on Wednesday, the 27-year-old Married At First Sight star confessed her actions verged on cheating.

Beck was caught out kissing a mystery man after returning home to tend to her sick dog during the latest season of MAFS.

The kiss left Jake, 32, understandably upset, while the rest of the show’s participants were shocked by what had transpired.

And after initially denying any wrongdoing, Beck appears to have changed her mind, but insisted it’s ‘not actually what ended our relationship’.

‘I do consider it to an extent cheating. But do I think cheating like that is a hard boundary that should end a relationship? No, I don’t,’ she said.

Beck said that she and Jake hadn’t broken up at the time of the kiss, but added that she had written ‘leave’ at the most recent commitment ceremony.

‘I know that my mental health and my state at that time was absolutely shot. And I can only try to forgive myself each day for what I did, because I still hurt Jake and that’s the most important part of it to me,’ she admitted.

She added: ‘However, in my mind at the time, I didn’t even think I was cheating on Jake. If anyone sees it that way, I’m happy to take it on board, but I know I stuck to my happiness and my truth. 

‘It’s not like I was having a sexual relationship with Jake and had someone on the side. Jake was very aware of how I was feeling about him at that moment.’  

In an Instagram Q&A with fans last month, Beck denied having cheated on Jake, and argued she had long since checked out of their relationship.

‘In MAFS world, yes! In the real world… no!’ Beck responded when asked if she thought she’d cheated.
