Gwyneth Paltrow looks summery in white slacks as she chats on the phone while shopping in Santa Monica… after skipping the line at the DMV

She recently caused a bit of a scandal after seemingly using her celebrity status to get some VIP treatment.

And on Friday, Gwyneth Paltrow was seen out on a shopping excursion in Santa Monica, California, chatting on her smartphone.

The Oscar winner, 48, strolled along on the sidewalk in white Birkenstock-style sandals, paired with matching wide-legged white trousers that were cuffed above her ankles.

On top, Gwyneth wore a black ribbed sweater with a zipper front.

She had on black sunglasses and wore a grey face covering.

She carried another pair of glasses in her hand as she chatted on the phone.

Gwyneth‘s blonde hair was down, flowing around her shoulders.

The sighting comes days after Paltrow was seen sneaking into the back door of a Los Angeles DMV office, while dozens of people were waiting in line out front.

Paltrow kept a low profile with a bodyguard at around 11am as she skipped a queue of 50 people and got out in just 30 minutes.

While Paltrow was enjoying the perks of being famous, she previously said being a celebrity has been a ‘pretty terrible’ experience.

Speaking on the Anna Faris Is Unqualified podcast last month, the daughter of actress Blythe Danner and director Bruce Paltrow said: ‘I’ve been in the public eye for so many years, the surreal part is having been famous, basically, my whole adult life, so I don’t know what it means to be a grown-up without all of the scrutiny and all of the wonderful things and terrible things that come with being a famous person.’

On a more ‘wonderful’ note, the Seven star posted a touching video snippet to her Instagram feed, in which she reminisced about the iconic bubblegum pink Ralph Lauren gown she wore to the 1999 Oscars when she won the Best Actress statuette for Shakespeare In Love.

In the clip, the Goop founder mentioned how her late father, director Bruce Paltrow, surprised her by gifting her the Harry Winston jewels she had borrowed for her victorious evening at the Academy Awards.

Warning viewers she was going to cry, the Politician actress then added that she wore those same pieces of jewelry when she got married to her second husband Brad Falchuk in 2018, as a way of keeping her father close.

Gwyneth’s father Bruce, husband to her actress mother Blythe Danner, died at the age of 58 in 2002 after complications stemming from oral cancer and pneumonia.

Bruce passed away while vacationing in Rome, Italy, where he was celebrating Gwyneth’s 30th birthday.
