Bethenny Frankel insists she’s ‘good to her staff’ after leaving Big Shot contestant in tears

Bethenny Frankel has raised some eyebrows with her no-nonsense approach to business on her new show, The Big Shot With Bethenny.

But despite the criticism, Bethenny insists she’s a good boss and says her staff are getting an experience superior to a Master of Business Administration degree.

Speaking to The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday, the 50-year-old said: ‘I’m good to my staff and it’s like a business boot camp.’

‘I’m good to my staff’: Bethenny Frankel hit back at claims she’s too tough on her staff during an interview with The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday

She continued: ‘They learn more than you would learn getting an MBA. I’m not kidding.

‘Because it’s licensing, branding, broadcasting, publishing, food, entertainment, publicity, social media, all of it.’

However, the reality star clarified that working for her can come with some less-than-fabulous grunt work too.

‘You have to do a lot of the personal B.S. in order to get through that gauntlet,’ she explained.

‘Everybody wants to cherry pick. They just want to come with me when I’m doing the Kelly and Ryan show, when I do all that fun stuff. It looks glamorous, and it is.’

‘You know what’s not glamorous? Helping me pack for a trip and folding my bra into a suitcase – so that’s part of this thing, you’ve gotta take both,’ she continued.

‘But you’ll learn so much. No place gives you the opportunity to learn all these things. It’s like anything else, you’ve gotta get through the crap to get to the good.’

Bethenny’s new competition reality show, The Big Shot With Bethenny, is currently airing on Hayu in Australia.

And the show’s breakout star, DJ Nicole Rosé, recently opened up about her experience during filming.

Speaking to the Unpopular podcast, Nicole admitted that she was left in tears after a run-in with the ‘intimidating’ Skinnygirl mogul during a shapewear photoshoot.

‘If you do the wrong thing she’s gonna call you out, if you do something weird she’s gonna make fun of it,’ she said.

‘My experience at the time was like, what’s going on. I’m here for somebody that I love and respect and I adore her and I look up to her, and I’m getting yelled at, like, every twenty minutes,’ she continued.

‘I was just trying to figure out what’s going, so I was writing down what was happening just to try and make some sense of it. I didn’t understand how I was offending her so much.’

Nicole added that she and Bethenny ‘were just on two different wavelengths’ at the start of the season.

She explained that there was a misunderstanding between the two when she didn’t personally dress the former RHONY star during a Skinnygirl shapewear shoot.

‘I went into the bathroom and cried. You couldn’t see it because I left, I was like, “What is happening?” I didn’t know what was going on,’ she told Unpopular.

She later added: ‘There were points where I just had no idea why she was mad at me. Like in that photoshoot, a lot of that was just a complete misunderstanding.’

Despite some friction during filming, Nicole still had plenty of kind words for the reality TV mogul too.

‘I love Bethenny and I’ve always loved Bethenny. That is one thousand percent the real reason why I signed up to do this,’ she explained.

‘I believe in her, I now know that she is far more brilliant than anyone even understands. When you sit in a room with her and she calls things out so much faster than anyone else picks it up, you’re just like whoa.

‘She notices every little error, every little mistake, every creative idea, she sees pathways before most people’s brains can identify them, which is a truly a skillset most people don’t have,’ she added.

As Nicole waits for the season to end to find out if she’ll officially be working for Bethenny’s company or not, the DJ is focused on her popular podcast, Big Queen Energy.

The Big Shot With Bethenny is available to stream now only on hayu
