Joe Swash has recalled the awkward moment he proposed to Stacey Solomon which did not go to plan.
The actor, 39, popped the question to his fiancée, 31, on Christmas Eve and thought he would surprise her with a romantic walk in the forest near their home.
Joe had organised for a floral display to be waiting for them when it came time to get down on one knee, but Stacey misinterpreted the romantic display.

Appearing on this week’s episode of Celebrity Juice, Joe admitted Stacey thought the flowers had been put out to pay respects to someone who had died.
He said: ‘The proposal was a bit awkward as well. I thought it would be really nice. I thought I’d do it on Christmas Eve and I took her into the forest and I got a lady to put loads of flowers out.
‘When I took her through the forest, she seen the flowers and went, “aww, I think someone’s died over there” cause it was all white flowers.’
He added: ‘I went to her, “oh come, let’s have a look and pay some respects”‘.

Late last month, Joe faced the wrath of Stacey after he accidentally revealed their wedding date on Loose Women.
Stacey was seriously unimpressed when Joe told the panel they were set to wed on the last Sunday in July (July 25).
Eamonn Holmes, who was also appearing in the Loose Women special, said: ‘Can you say when it’s happening your wedding?’
Joe said: ‘Stacey are we allowed to say? I never know.’

Stacey told him: ‘You wouldn’t know the date even if you were allowed to say’. To which Joe said: ‘The date is the last Sunday in July.’
Furious, Stacey said: ‘Oh my god, why did I bring you here? Fantastic. Good stuff.’
Eamonn then trying to gloss over the accidental blunder says: ‘I’m looking at my diary. I’m trying to see where I am on the last Sunday in July. We’re free love’.
The couple have been busy planning their wedding, which will take place at their new £1.2million home Pickle Cottage after Joe proposed on Christmas Eve.
Speaking about their ceremony earlier this week, Stacey told OK! Magazine: ‘It will just be me, Joe, my family and the rabbi in the garden at this rate. No food, no disco, nothing. So I’ve not sorted out my wedding and I’ve not sorted out this house.’

Viewers soon took to Twitter over Joe’s slip-up. One wrote: ‘There’s going to be a row in the car going home now Joe has let slip when they’re getting married’.
Another added: ‘Joe knows nothing…ha! Wooops’.
Joe also revealed he is planning to have three stag dos. He said: ‘I’ll have one that our kids organised for me, I’ll take them to Alton Towers’, before detailing his plans to jet off to Ibiza and also have a fishing stag do.
Stacey revealed the couple were engaged when she shared a snap of herself wearing her ring and wrote: ‘To the moon and back bub. I have no words.’

Detailing when they finally decided to take their relationship to the next level, the Dagenham native shared: ‘He asked me to marry him and after crying for what felt like a very long time… I said yes.’
In an image shared to both her Stories and her main feed, Stacey held back tears as she posed alongside the elaborate display.
The newly-engaged couple reside in Essex with their children, while Joe’s son Harry, 13, lives with his mother Emma Sophocleous. Stacey co-parents Zachary with her former partner Dean Cox and Leighton with ex-fiancé Aaron Barham.

The loved-up pair met on the set for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! when the artist was crowned Queen of the Jungle and the former EastEnders star hosted spin-off series Extra Camp in 2010, a year after he took home the title.
The duo confirmed their relationship in January 2016, with the auburn-haired beauty stating at the time: ‘It’s going really well… we’re having fun, spending time together and getting to know each other.’
They announced they were expecting their first child together in February 2019, and welcomed baby Rex three months later.
