Under wraps: Isla Fisher revealed in this month’s Marie Claire Australia that her husband, Sacha Baron Cohen, refused to tell her about the dangerous pranks he was filming for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm so she ‘didn’t have to worry’

Sacha was away for 70 days shooting the Amazon Original movie, during which time Isla was in the dark about his exploits.

‘Sacha was very kind in not sharing what he intended to shoot each day,’ she said.

After he was home safely, the Ali G star told his wife of one scene: ‘Oh, I was at a pro-gun rally; everyone was carrying guns.’

The scene in question depicted Sacha – as Borat – leading a racist singalong at a gun rally, before fleeing the event in a bulletproof vest after his real identity was exposed.

The notoriously private actress admitted she felt ‘very lucky to have met’ the Sacha at a party in Sydney in 2002.

‘I’m always surprised that I’m employed, married and have my family – everything else feels like a bonus,’ the mother of three said.
