She’s the Australian actress who is married to comedian Sacha Baron Cohen.

And while Isla Fisher and her husband are very much in the public eye, they are notoriously private about their children.

In an interview with Marie Claire Australia, Isla, 45, revealed exactly why she won’t share photographs of her three children – Olive, 13, Elula, 10 and six-year-old son, Montgomery Moses Brian – on social media.

‘Motherhood is actually my favourite topic – but I keep it private,’ she said.

‘I think all parents are trying to protect their kids, especially in the social media age.

‘I want our children to have a normal childhood – being able to play outside without pressure or scrutiny.  All kids have the right to just be kids, and I would never sell a film or magazine by speaking about [mine].’

While the Wedding Crashers star kept mum on her offspring, she did however speak candidly about her marriage to Sacha. 

In the same issue of Marie Claire Australia Isla said she felt ‘very lucky to have met’ the Borat star, 49, at a party in Sydney in 2002.

Her in-depth interview was accompanied by a stunning photo shoot in which she posed in a variety of designer outfits.

Inside, she also revealed the ‘secret’ to her long-lasting relationship with the British comedian as they approach 20 years together, and she said that ‘humour helps’.

‘I wish I had an answer. I’m very lucky to have met him,’ she added.

She also touched upon how grateful she is for everything in her life, particularly her career and family.

Isla, who was born in Oman but grew up in Perth, also discussed moving back to Australia with her family after years spent living in Los Angeles.

While reports suggested she and Sacha had wanted to escape ‘Trump’s America’, Isla said relocating to Sydney was a personal rather than a political decision. 

Isla said it ‘feels very magical’ to be back home after spending so long in the U.S. and that she can ‘be herself’ in Australia.
