Holly Hagan confirms she’s postponed her Ibiza wedding until 2022

Holly Hagan has confirmed that she’s postponed her wedding to fiancé Jacob Blyth until 2022.

The Geordie Shore star, 28, had intended to tie the knot in Ibiza this summer but plans have had to be pushed back amid ongoing Covid travel restrictions.

Sharing a lengthy update on Instagram on Friday, the beauty revealed that she feels like a ‘weight has been lifted’ now the couple know what’s happening with their big day and gushed: ‘What’s another year when we have forever.’

Pushed back: Holly Hagan has confirmed that she’s postponed her Ibiza wedding to fiancé Jacob Blyth until 2022, saying she now feels like a ‘weight has been lifted off her shoulders’

Taking to social media, Holly shared a stunning snap of herself modelling lacy bridal lingerie and a veil to announce the change of plans.

Holly penned: ‘To be honest I feel like a weight has been lifted of my shoulders. We had been positive the whole way through but as a safety net I never once let myself get excited. Although I did spend 2 days packing my case.

‘Prepare for the worst and hope for the best’ had been my phrase for this and tbh that’s not how you should feel about one of the biggest days of your life.

‘At the end of the day I’m so lucky to have found the man I want to spend the rest of my life with and what’s an extra year when we have forever.’

The reality star then continued that she and Jacob are happy to wait for their ‘dream’ wedding day and don’t want to ‘rush’.

She added: ‘Were not going to rush into a wedding for the sake of it just to say we’re married. I want us to have the day we always dreamed of, and if we have to wait another year for it then that’s just another year to do it bigger and better.

‘When the time finally comes we are going to be even more grateful and overwhelmed with the people we have around us and each other.

‘So please don’t feel bad for us we are so blessed to be healthy and happy.

‘I am just so terribly devastated for the travel and wedding industries around the world. I hope more than anything they are able to survive another year of this.’

The government unveiled its traffic light system on Monday ahead of lifting the ban on international travel next week.

Anyone visiting a country on the Amber List must isolate for 10 days upon returning to the UK, provide proof of a negative test before flying home, and complete two PCR tests on days two and eight of their isolation.

Holly’s update also comes after a source claimed that she was ‘devastated’ about the change of plans.

A source told The Sun: ‘Like so many other brides Holly has been really put through the ringer with her wedding and she is hugely upset.

Can I go on holiday from May 17?

The Government has announced the green, amber and red lists for international travel.

-Who is on the green list?

It consists of Portugal, Gibraltar, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Brunei, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, plus several small remote islands which are British Overseas Territories.

– So I can go on holiday to anywhere on that list?

Not quite. Entry to Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Brunei and the Faroe Islands is severely restricted.

– Where can I go?

Portugal plans to welcome UK tourists who have had a recent negative test, have recovered from the virus and therefore have antibodies, or had both doses of a vaccine.

Gibraltar will not require UK visitors to be tested or vaccinated, whereas Israel will initially reopen its border on May 23 only to groups of foreign tourists who have had both jabs.

None of these destinations will require arrivals to quarantine.

– What about the amber list?

That covers the most popular holiday destinations such as Spain, France, Italy and Greece.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said ‘you should not be travelling to these places right now’

– What if I go against that guidance?

People returning from amber countries must take two post-arrival tests.

They are also required to self-isolate at home for 10 days, although they can reduce that time if they take an additional negative test on day-five.

– How about the red list?

Those returning from a red list country must stay in a quarantine hotel for 11 nights at a cost of £1,750.

– Will the lists change?

The lists can be amended at any time, but wholesale changes are not expected to occur until the situation is reviewed at a ‘checkpoint’ on June 28.

– What about vaccine passports?

Grant Shapps confirmed that people in England will be able to demonstrate they have had both doses of a vaccine through the NHS app.

‘Holly has started telling people about the cancellation now. So much goes into planning a wedding and obviously Holly is just desperate to marry Jacob. She just wants to be his wife but also wants the wedding she has dreamt of for years.

‘They are hopeful it won’t be too long until they can say ‘I will’ but for now all plans are on ice.’

MailOnline contacted representatives for Holly Hagan for comment at the time.

Last week Holly was branded ‘rude’ by fans as she asked them not to send their questions about if her upcoming Ibiza wedding can still go ahead.

She took to her Instagram Stories on Friday to share a slide of details surrounding her upcoming nuptials with Jacob Blyth.

As news of the ‘Green List’ of places for British people to travel to was revealed, she shared that the Balearics, where her Ibiza wedding was due to take place, still remained on ‘amber’.

This means visitors would be required to quarantine, but she remained positive at the time that the wedding could still go ahead as the situation would be reviewed every three weeks.

Holly said it was ‘impossible and draining’ trying to get back to all of her fans on their wedding questions so she put the details in one place.

She penned: ‘Hey! We’ve obviously had so many messages regarding the wedding. It’s impossible and draining trying to get back to everyone so I’ll just leave this here for everyone.

‘Spain is on the amber list as it has been for awhile now. We were thinking Balearics would be in a separate grouping however it doesn’t seem to be the case.

‘There is a review every three weeks which could mean Balearics move to green before the wedding but it’s so close we can’t really chance that so we have to move ahead with the assumption that Ibiza is amber for the foreseeable future.’

The bride-to-be continued: ‘Now regardless of the amber/green result today we still have absolutely no idea if weddings can go ahead in Ibiza and if so to what capacity.

‘Until that announcement happens we are still in limbo. We’re hoping to hear more from Ibiza soon on that but until then it’s still a waiting game for us and we will be flying out regardless.’

Holly added at the end: ‘Please don’t message about how gutted and sorry you are for us, we’re fine, what will be will be.’ (sic)

The star, whose fellow co-star Charlotte Crosby will be her bridesmaid, then posted a video as it appeared her matter-of-fact statement annoyed fans.

She turned the camera on herself as she looked typically glam with a full face of make-up and a V-neck grey top in the clip.

Alongside some text on the screen, Holly said: ‘Apparently I was rude for asking people not to send their condolences. Come on guys it’s a wedding’.

The text read: ‘Apparently I was rude for asking people not to send their condolences. 1 – We are still in limbo and no idea if it is cancelled or not.

‘2 – We are absolutely fine and I cba replying to the same dm’s over and over although I do appreciate everyone’s love and support, it’s not necessary.

‘3 – There’s so many more people who need your love and support out there over us.’

Holly continued chatting to the camera and said: ‘I’m not dying. There are far more people in this world who need your love and support than us for a postponed wedding.’

She concluded her video with the statement: ‘It’s a potential postponed wedding. We are both happy and healthy and couldn’t be more blessed than that.’

In December, Holly revealed she had postponed her wedding, admitting she had become overwhelmed with the pressure of planning so decided to ‘put it off a little bit’.

Jacob proposed during a sunset dinner date at the chic Cotton Beach Club in Ibiza on their second anniversary in June 2019.

Holly told OK! magazine: ‘We were planning on doing it in 2021 in summer but do you know what? It’s so much hassle and just so much stress that I’m thinking we might put it off a little bit.

‘There’s no rush, we are only 27 and I think if we rushed through it and then it’s done, it’s like, oh what’s next, so I think we’re going to just enjoy being engaged for a while and then see where we’re at next year.’
