‘You guys have been so wonderful to tune in every week, or every other week or every two weeks! The rollout was nuts!’ Sedgwick added with a facepalm emoji.

Call Your Mother followed Kyra’s character Jean Raines, an empty-nester, who decides to move from Waterloo, Iowa to Los Angeles so she can be close to her three adult children, played by Joey Bragg, Rachel Sennott and Austin Crute. Her children are annoyed when she starts trying to get involved in their lives.

After production on the sitcom was halted by the pandemic, ABC picked it up for a full season, skipping the pilot process.

Created by Kari Lizer, the show debuted in January 2021 as a mid-season entry to the 2020-2021 season.

Though 3.4 million viewers tuned in for the premiere, the audience numbers began dropping and it is now one of ABC’s least-watched shows.

While ABC aired episodes weekly from January 13 to March 3, the network started releasing episodes every few weeks after that point. Call Your Mother last aired on May 12 after a three-week absence.
