Today: Karl Stefanovic and Brooke Boney admit they hate TV show Friends

‘That’s the worst show!’ Today’s Karl Stefanovic and Brooke Boney admit they HATE Friends while discussing its highly anticipated reunion special

Today‘s Karl Stefanovic and Brooke Boney divided viewers on Friday when they confessed they hate the TV show Friends.

Entertainment reporter Brooke, 33, was discussing the new teaser trailer for the sitcom’s highly anticipated reunion episode, and struggled to show enthusiasm.

‘It’s hard for me to pretend that I like Friends. You guys know I’m a Seinfeld girl,’ she told co-hosts Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon.

Allison, 41, jokingly encouraged her colleague to share her ‘honest’ opinion, before Brooke admitted she’d tried but failed to get excited about the reunion special.

‘I want to be supportive, I want to be friendly. That’s the name of the show after all,’ she said.

Karl, 46, then admitted he knew exactly how Brooke felt, saying: ‘Oh, thank God I’m not alone! That’s the worst show.’

With both her colleagues slamming the popular ’90s sitcom, Allison said she felt like it was up to her to ‘defend it’.

But she seemed equally as unenthused about the revival, giving Brooke a telling side-eye glance.

The Friends reunion trailer dropped on Friday, after seemingly years in the making.

It showed the original six cast members – David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox and Matt LeBlanc – walking through the Warner Bros. Studio backlot in Burbank, where the show was filmed, at dusk.

Shot from behind, the show’s tight-knit stars held hands and wrapped their arms around each other as they walked past the soundstages in slow motion.

An instrumental version of the show’s recognisable theme song, I’ll Be There for You by The Rembrandts, played, before they faded out of focus.
