Actor Russell Crowe recalls the night singer Sting took him to a Dublin SWINGERS bar after The Police gig

Russell Crowe took a walk down memory lane on Friday.

Posting to Twitter, the Australian actor, 57, reminisced about attending a concert by British rock band The Police in Ireland.

After the show, which was held at Croke Park, Dublin, in 2007, the band’s singer Sting, 69, too Russell to a local pub – which happened to be hosting a swingers event.

Memory lane: Russell Crowe has recalled a night out with singer Sting after a The Police concert in Ireland

‘The one and only time I ever went to Croke Park was to see The Police in concert. Flew in from London,’ the Gladiator star Tweeted.

‘Sat on a road case on the side of stage. Brilliant. Post gig, met up with Sting, for one pint, random pub. Unbeknownst to any of us it was swingers night.’

Russell went on to specify that it really was only one pint, because he was on a tight schedule – and he had his then wife, Danielle Spencer, 52, in tow.

He added:  ‘Poetry of another kind. At the time. People ask me why I love Dublin, I ask, how much time do I have ?’

Russell and fellow Australia star Danielle were married between 2003 and 2018, and share two sons, Charles, 17 and Tennyson, 14.

It comes as new details emerge about Russell’s upcoming psychological thriller film Poker Face.
