Proving the haters wrong: Married At First Sight’s Stacey Hampton reveals her legal qualifications after being branded a ‘fake lawyer’

Her legal qualifications have been questioned numerous times since she made her reality TV debut on Married At First Sight last year.

And Stacey Hampton, 27, has hit back at her critics once again by showing off her legal qualifications on social media, alongside the sarcastic hashtag #fakelawyer.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the single mother of two shared a letter to the Judges of the Supreme Court of South Australia, dated April 30, 2019, which clearly states she can legally practise law.

She captioned the image, ‘#fakelawyer xoxo, Gossip Girl’, in a nod to the U.S. teen drama which thrived on revealing secrets and exposing lies.

It’s not the first time her law degree has come into question.

In March last year, when her season of MAFS was airing on TV, Stacey offered proof she was a qualified lawyer by publishing her law degree and diploma on Instagram.

After fellow bride Hayley Vernon questioned her legal credentials at the girls’ night, she decided to upload photos of her qualifications to settle the debate.

Stacey was first awarded a Bachelor of Laws from the University of South Australia in August 2017, after five years of studying while raising two children.

She went on to receive a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law in April 2019.

A month later, she was admitted to the bar by the Supreme Court of South Australia.

Shortly after the show aired, Stacey admitted she was having trouble finding a job in her field because she has two children at home.

‘If I did five days a week then I feel like I’m not being fair on my children and I’m not there for them,’ she explained in a YouTube video.

Stacey said that being a single mother had impacted both her career and dating life because her sons, Kosta and Kruz, always come first.

‘A lot of people ask why I’m not using my law degree, but not many law firms like to take on people who only want three days a week,’ she said.

‘If I did five days a week then I feel like I’m not being fair on my children and I’m not there for them and I’m not helping them with their schooling and stuff like that.

‘Being a single parent has impacted me quite a lot, but I’m also so blessed and wouldn’t have my life any other way.’
