Oscar winner Sam Rockwell and his wife Leslie Bibb are the latest Hollywood stars to arrive in Australia – as punters ‘fawn all over them’ and buy them rounds at an Adelaide restaurant


Oscar winner Sam Rockwell and his actress wife Leslie Bibb are the latest Hollywood stars to arrive in Australia.

The couple were spotted enjoying a few beers and a meal at Little Bang Brewery, in Adelaide, South Australia on Saturday night.

A local told The Advertiser that they stayed for several hours and were patient with adoring fans.

‘I bought them a round of drinks, and they were very lovely,’ a restaurant patron said of Sam, 52, and Leslie, 46. 

‘He was very nice, very polite, very complimentary and appreciative of the place, very patient with punters fawning all over him.’   

It’s not known why Sam – who won Best Supporting Actor at the 2018 Academy Awards for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri – and Leslie were in Adelaide.

However Leslie has been filming Netflix comedy God’s Favorite Idiot, alongside Melissa McCarthy, in the country town of Lismore, just outside of Byron Bay. 

McCarthy and co-star Ben Falcone were granted $10 million from the federal government’s Local Incentive program to film God’s Favorite Idiot in Australia. 

Many of the world’s renowned actors – including film royalty George Clooney and Julia Roberts – are making the move Down Under to capitalise on generous government grants designed to boost Australia’s fledgling film industry.

Clooney and Roberts’ rom-com Ticket to Paradise will look to transform Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands into Bali, while other locations in the state will be transformed to replicate cities in the US.

Back in March, Viggo Mortensen and Colin Farrell were set to film Ron Howard’s Thirteen Lives in Queensland. 

Currently in production in Sydney is the new Thor: Love and Thunder film, starring Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Matt Damon and Russell Crowe.

Zac Efron recently wrapped up filming Stan original movie Gold in South Australia.
