He’s back in action with a thrilling new role.

And Arnold Schwarzenegger got the greenlight for his first scripted television show as he’s set to star in a global spy series at Netflix.

Arnold, 73, and Monica Barbaro, 30, will portray a father-daughter duo in the as-yet untitled show which was picked up by the streaming giant for eight episodes.

‘Fans from all over the world have been asking me for a wild ride like this for years, and now they’re finally going to get it because of our great partners at Skydance and Netflix,’ said Schwarzenegger. 

‘I am beyond pumped to start work on the show with Nick and Monica and the whole team.’ 

Schwarzenegger and Barbaro will play a father and daughter, who both work for the CIA unbeknownst to the other, according to The Hollywood Reporter

‘They realize their relationship is built on lies and they don’t really know each other at all. Forced to team up, they sort through their family issues against a backdrop of spies, action and humor.’

Arnold has worked with Skydance for years, most recently on the last two Terminator films, Genisys and Dark Fate.

The hourlong drama was created and executive produced by Nick Santora, who also serves as showrunner.

Santoro developed the original idea as part of an overall deal with Skydance Television, which was set up for development at Netflix in November.  

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost are also set to executive produce for Skydance, as well as Schwarzenegger. 

Barbaro is set to star in the upcoming Top Gun: Maverick sequel with Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer and Miles Teller. The highly-anticipated movie’s release was delayed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
