The 26-year-old newly announced Bachelorette seemed especially happy to see the former AFL star, who was appearing as a guest panelist on the show.

‘So good to see you, Tony,’ she responded with a broad grin after the 31-year-old asked her a question about this year’s mixed-gender contestants.

Sensing the chemistry between them, fellow Project panelist Lisa Wilkinson couldn’t resist asking Brooke how ‘hot’ she wanted the contestants to be ‘on a scale of one to Tony Armstrong’.

Tony then mugged for the camera, shooting Brooke a seductive gaze, which prompted her to burst out laughing.

‘Brooke, you did say it was good to see you Tony. Would you like to see Tony arrive in the Bachelor mansion?’ asked fellow panelist Peter Helliar.

Seemingly unsure about what to say, a red-faced Brooke simply laughed off the comments, but refused to answer Pete’s question.

‘We’re getting ambushed here, Brooke,’ Tony told her, prompting Brooke to respond, ‘We absolutely are. I’m backed into a corner right now.’

Tony then advised her to ‘take that earpiece out’, before telling her ‘we can walk away’.

The forthcoming series will see both men and women competing for her affections.

It will mark the first time globally that any of the Bachelor or Bachelorette franchises will feature a mixed-gender cast.

When asked how she felt audiences would take the change, Brooke admitted: ‘I am not too sure if Australia is ready for it… I certainly am.’
