Sophia Bush was overcome with emotion after her friends surprised her with a backyard celebration to congratulate her on the series pick up of her new show Good Sam.
The 38-year-old actress shared a video and photos of the celebration to her Instagram page on Thursday.
‘I was really really REALLY surprised, guys! My humans. My heart. The “oh nooooo” kills me #GoodSam @cbstv @cbstvstudios,’ she captioned the post, adding several different smiley face emojis.

In the video, Sophia walks out onto her balcony to find a group of her friends waiting below to surprise her.
Upon seeing her friends, she clasps her hand over her mouth in shock and bends over while the group cheers and claps for her.

Another shot features the One Tree Hill star posing with screenwriter Katie Wech in front of silver balloons that spell out the letters ‘Good Sam.’
Wech is the writer of Good Sam and her past work includes BH90210, Rizzoli & Isles and Once Upon A Time In Wonderland.

She also serves as executive producer along with Jennie Snyder Urman and Joanna Klein for Urman’s Sutton St. Productions. Wech and Urman previously worked together as co-executive producers for Jane the Virgin.
CBS announced that the network had picked up Good Sam to series on May 14 for its 2021-2022 slate.
According to the official synopsis, the show ‘Dr. Sam Griffith(Bush), a gifted heart surgeon who excels in her new leadership role as Chief of Surgery after her renowned boss falls into a coma.
‘When her former boss wakes up months later demanding to resume his duties, Sam is tasked with supervising this egotistical expert with a scalpel who never acknowledged her stellar talent.’

It will mark Sophia’s first main network television role since she starred in Chicago P.D. as main character Erin Lindsay from 2014-2017. The role of Lindsay was the first time that Bush was the lead in a TV series but she became a fan-favorite after her nine-season stint as Brooke Davis is WB/CW’s One Tree Hill.
Harry Potter fans will surely remember Isaacs who starred as the villainous Lucius Malfoy in the smash hit movie franchise. The cast also includes Edwin Hodge, Skye P. Marshall, Michael Stahl-David, Davi Santos, Omar Maskati and Wendy Crewson.
No release date has been set yet but the show is expected to premiere sometime in the fall.
