Eamonn Holmes documents his road to recovery after dislocating his pelvis

He was diagnosed with a dislocated pelvis and three slipped discs in March.

And Eamonn Holmes detailed his road to recovery to his followers on Friday amid his health battle, after previously revealing he was suffering ‘chronic pain’.

The TV presenter, 61, said his agonising slipped disc recovery is like ‘learning to walk again’, as he continues to depend on crutches in order to walk.

The star who has recently been dependent on the walking aids, is now focusing on his rehab and decided to give his fans a glimpse of his recovery on Twitter.

Eamonn shockingly revealed he’s lost nerves in his right leg due to the injury.

Dressed in all black work out attire Eamonn said: ‘OK I’m still crutch dependent and the idea is to get rid of this and the man that’s going to get rid of this for me is this man James Davis!’

James Davis, who is the presenters physiotherapist, said he has been ‘treating Eamonn for a couple of weeks’, and ‘he is now at the rehab stage’ of his recovery.

The Northern Irish star said: ‘This all looks very simple and it is very simple except it’s like learning to walk again.’

‘I’ve lost nerves in my right leg and there’s certain actions I can’t do so even the most simple thing is hard but it’s getting better.’

The video showed Eamonn working out in his back garden, trying several exercises to strength and stabilise his pelvis as well as the muscles around his lumbar spine.

The clip also shows the This Morning host lying on a treatment table and getting a massage.

‘The whole recuperation path there’s so many aspects to it. James is the boss man and you know, he has me here on the treatment table. Some of it is quite pleasant.

‘Not a lot if it but I know he’s doing a good job and do you think we’re making progress? Lots! That shows you how bad I was in the first place.

But the treatment table and his magic hands very, very important.’

At the end of the short video, Eamonn was seen in pressure socks, which promotes circulation to feed nerve endings in his legs.

‘Then to round the day or the session off I put on my socks!’ he shared. ‘These are pressure socks, don’t worry I’m perfectly safe in them.

‘These are used by a lot of elite athletes to help the healing process… In the meantime, it is so comfortable I think I’ll just do 45 minutes and maybe doze off.’

Last month Eamonn shared how circulation boosters have helped him ‘get back out there’ doing daily activities.

According to The Sun, Eamonn said of the treatment: ‘I had a bit of difficulty with waking before and after a double hip operation.’

As well as using the circulation booster, Eamonn has helped alleviate his pain with physiotherapy and ice cold showers, which have left him feeling ‘invigorated’ amid his health woes.

Eamonn first spoke about his dislocated pelvis back in March and had an MRI scan recently to have further tests done after being left in chronic pain.

Recently, Eamonn detailed how a dislocated pelvis started his chronic health battle as he waited for results of an MRI scan because his pain has escalated.

He joked in an interview with the Irish Independent that his injury is ‘nowhere near as erotic as it sounds’.

He told the publication: ‘I mysteriously dislocated my pelvis and I don’t know how — it’s not as erotic as it sounds. My back is now out of alignment as a result.’

The Belfast native went on to reveal that since he spoke of his gruelling pain on social media, he found it ‘absolutely scary’ the number of people who are also living with chronic pain.

‘Nobody knows what it’s like unless they live with someone who has it.’ he said. ‘I’m in huge pain and nobody knows how to stop it.

‘This hurts like hell and I need to find a way to overcome it. It has lasted a month and it feels like I can’t remember what life was like without the pain.’
