Bisexual Bachelorette Brooke Blurton reveals that she is looking for ‘the one’ and proud to be ‘representing minority groups’ as filming on the reality dating show begins

Brooke Blurton will begin her journey to find love as The Bachelorette with a mixed gender cast for the first time in the franchises history.

And in a heartfelt Instagram post on Saturday, the 26-year-old reflected on the adventure ahead.

She shared a photo of herself sat on a sand dune in the small town of Lancelin, in her home town, Western Australian.

‘How exciting that I’ll be embarking on the search to find ‘my one’ in the next couple of weeks,’ she began in the caption.

The reality TV star told her followers that she was ‘so overwhelmed’ and ‘proud’ of the positive response to her being the Bachelorette. 

She wrote: ‘I’ve addressed in multiple interviews the immense pressure I feel to protect the communities I am apart of and represent them with so much pride and integrity.

‘I know we’ve not always got it right as society in representing these minority groups, but this is why I’m here,’ she said.

She told The Daily Telegraph that she is ‘ready’ to help smash the reality TV show’s conventions.

The forthcoming series will see both men and women competing for her affections.

When asked how she felt audiences would take the change, Brooke admitted: ‘I am not too sure if Australia is ready for it… I certainly am.’

The Bachelor alum also addressed the major problem with casting both males and females on the show.

Speaking to Studio 10, she admitted it’s ‘inevitable’ some of the contestants will find love with each other in the mansion, instead of with her.

‘If it happens, who am I to stop it?’ she added. ‘I think it’s one of those things… it could be inevitable to happen and that’s totally fine.’

‘Look, I’ll be disappointed that we didn’t get to develop that relationship for whatever reason,’ she said. ‘It is what it is, and it will happen. I’ve just got to take it as it goes.’
