The Veronicas release long-awaited new album Godzilla… but they’re beaten on the charts by Pink

The Veronicas are currently back in the spotlight thanks to their stint on Channel Nine’s The Celebrity Apprentice Australia.

And the pop duo are also back to making music with the release of their first new album in six years, Godzilla.

The album briefly topped the Australian iTunes charts immediately after its release, but has since been surpassed by American singer Pink’s live concert album. 

Pink’s All I Know So Far: Setlist features live versions of her biggest hits, along with some live covers of classics like Queen’s We Are The Champions.

The Veronicas haven’t released an album since their 2014 self-titled effort, which hit No. 2 in Australia.

Their latest release, Godzilla, is their first of two new albums, with their next album, Human, due out on June 25.

Lisa and Jessica Origliasso are currently starring on The Celebrity Apprentice Australia, but the sisters have been vocal about their displeasure with how they’ve been portrayed on the show.

During an interview with The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday, the twins took aim at the show’s host, Lord Alan Sugar.

‘His reputation proceeds him. He didn’t bother learning anyone’s names, he didn’t care, he is what he is,’ one of the sisters said. 

They went on to say that Lord Sugar ‘isn’t our cup of tea’, adding that it’s basic respect to learn people’s names. 

‘We think if you’re in that privileged position… learning people’s names might be a good start. We like humble billionaires, like Kyle,’ they added. 

This was in reference to radio host Kyle Sandilands, who was interviewing them. While Kyle is very wealthy, he’s not a billionaire. 

The twins said they wanted to see more heart on the show, but did acknowledge some of the celebrities were just there to advance their careers.

They previously lashed out at the network on Twitter, accusing Channel Nine of focusing more on drama than charity.
