Kumail Nanjiani takes break from shooting Obi-Wan Kenobi and goes on walk with wife Emily V. Gordon

Kumail Nanjiani is currently hard at work shooting the upcoming Star Wars miniseries, Obi-Wan Kenobi, which reunites stars Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, respectively.

But on Memorial Day Monday, the comedian turned actor was able to take a break from the stresses of being on set and enjoy some downtime with wife Emily V. Gordon.

The couple were seen while out on a casual stroll in Los Angeles that included a stop to get a couple cups of coffee.

Nanjiani’s big and buff physique left little doubt as to whether he had kept up with his intense workouts that he started as part of his body transformation for his role in the Marvel movie, Eternals.

The Silicon Valley star, 43, showed off his bulging biceps and chest in a fitted baby blue t-shirt that was paired with matching shorts and sneakers.

He rounded out his sporty ensemble with an Oakland A’s baseball cap over his short black hair.

The sleeveless number was matched with a pair of white sneakers, dark sunglasses, and her dirty blonde tresses styled long and straight with a part in the middle.

The couple, who celebrate their fourteenth wedding anniversary in July, appeared to be relaxed as they chatted during their stroll to and from the coffee shoppe.

The afternoon outing comes one week after the release of the first full-length trailer and poster for the Marvel Entertainment movie, Eternals.

It was during preparations to play Kingo, an ego-swollen, muscle-packed alien among men, that Nanjiani started his buff body transformation. With the role the Pakistan-born star becomes the first South Asian superhero in a Marvel movie.

‘I don’t want to be the schlubby brown guy—I want to look like someone who can hang with Thor and Captain America,’ he found himself repeating in his head, as reported by Men’s Health.

Eternals also stars Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Gil Birmingham, Harish Patel, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie.

The film is slated to premiere in the U.S. on Disney+  on November 5, 2021,

The shoot for Obi-Wan Kenobi only just kicked off earlier in May. Set 10 years after Revenge Of The Sith (2005), all six episodes were written by Joby Harold and directed by Deborah Chow.

Along with Nanjiani, McGregor and Christensen, the miniseries also stars Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Moses Ingram, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie, and Maya Erskine.

Production was scheduled to begin in July 2020, but it was put on indefinite hold in January 2020 because producer Lucasfilm was unhappy with the scripts.

Harold was hired to rewrite the series in April 2020, and eventually filming kicked off just about two weeks ago.
