Catering for a big group of people at a wedding is always expensive, but one bride has taken thriftiness to new levels by planning to order nothing but 200 chicken tenders to feed her 200-strong guest list.
Taking to Reddit’s wedding shaming thread, a user in the US explained how she’s heard all about the big day from the frustrated mother of the groom, who is expected to pay for the entire wedding.
On top of that, she’s also expected to foot the bill for the bachelorette party, despite not even being invited.
And things may take a drunken turn on the big day with the guests being served nothing but a chicken tender each to mop up the booze they consume from the open bar.
Users on the popular discussion site were appalled at the bride’s behavior, and one added she could ‘never imagine’ treating her mother-in-law like this.

The friend of the groom’s mother called out the bride on the thread in a lengthy post, and added that her family hadn’t paid for a thing.
The person penned: ‘The bride chose her sister-in-law as as her maid of honour, then expects her to bankroll a three-day boozy bachelorette party.
‘The sister-in-law can’t afford that, so mother of the groom pays for the weekend. She isn’t invited, but the bride’s mum is.’
‘However, the mother of the groom isn’t just paying for the bachelorette party. She also booked the church venue, paid for the venue, and paid for other assorted items, more than $10,000 already.

But things took an even stranger turn when it came to discussing catering for the big day.
The woman continued: ‘It gets worse. 200 people RSVPed, wedding is a week out at this point.

Users were quick to scold the bride for acting this way, but also condemned her partner for not sticking up for his mother.
