How did Vanessa Valladares – a 25-year-old waitress and part-time model from Byron Bay whose only claim to fame is being the ex-girlfriend of Zac Efron – somehow find herself at almost every runway show at Carriageworks?
While Sydney’s social elite was reportedly left baffled by her regular appearances, Daily Mail Australia has gathered a list of possible explanations.

Vanessa may have been invited as a special guest by the designers, hoping that her fame and media interest would draw attention to their brands.
Furthermore, she boasts 87,800 followers on Instagram, which is a decent amount for a mid-tier influencer and arguably enough to justify an invite.
She may have also scored an invite through one of her stylist friends like Jamie Azzopardi, whom she was seen spending time with throughout Fashion Week.
Another explanation is that several shows needed guests as ‘seat fillers’, tickets for the second and third rows were given to those who asked.

It comes as front-row fashionistas were said to be very confused as to why Vanessa was invited so many catwalk shows last week.
One guest was apparently overheard asking ‘What’s she even doing here?’ as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald.
On Tuesday, Vanessa was spotted sitting alone behind some of fashion’s elite at Carriageworks.

She was also spotted watching a show on Wednesday.
But it appears she was once again seated in the second row, before moving her seat forward to be closer to the likes of singer Jessica Mauboy and actress Sarah Ellen.
At one point, as Jessica and Sarah posed for photos, Sarah awkwardly blocked Vanessa from view.

Vanessa and Zac’s split was confirmed in April, following a 10-month romance.
After split rumours surfaced, KIIS FM radio host Kyle Sandilands – who is good friends with Zac – confirmed the break-up.
He said it ‘wasn’t just a rumour’, adding: ‘I can also confirm after speaking with him yesterday.’
Zac has been living in Australia since early last year, and is believed to have started dating Vanessa around June 2020.
