Tamzin Outhwaite reveals her brother was convinced she was Frog rather than Scarecrow

She recently came in fourth place on ITV’s The Masked Dancer.

And now, Tamzin Outhwaite has revealed that her brother had been clever enough to work out she was one of the characters on the show – but was convinced she was Frog rather than Scarecrow.

Speaking to The Sun, Tamzin, 50, said her brother was convinced that the mannerisms of Frog were too similar to hers to be a coincidence.

‘It’s a completely different body shape!’ Tamzin Outhwaite revealed that her brother worked out she was on The Masked Dancer – but was convinced she was Frog rather than Scarecrow

However, with Kelly Brook actually the one behind Frog’s mask, Tamzin said she pointed to her chest and told her brother: ‘I was like, “That was Kelly Brook! Have you seen this? It’s a completely different body shape”.’

One of the Masked Dancer’s selling points as a show is that the costumes the participating celebrities wear completely disguise their true identity.

Tamzin believes that this obscurity helps to maintain the secrecy of the show.

She said: ‘The costume was really baggy. You couldn’t tell if it was a boy or a girl for a bit, and I think it was the right thing to do — not go skin tight or make it overly sexual, as then it might be more female.’

Another reason Tamzin thinks her brother may have found it difficult to pick out which character she was competing as, is because she put on weight during filming.

She said that while working on her routines at Pineapple dance studios, she felt so excited to be out of her house because of the lockdown, that she saw it as a good excuse to eat someone else’s cooking.

Tamzin said that while working, she would often enjoy three meals a day in the comfort of her dressing room, rather than cooking for herself.

She told the paper: ‘I’d be like, “I’d love a full English”, and then I do the dancing thing and then lunchtime would come and, “Yeah, I’ll have fish and chips”, and then I’d go and do the rest of it and then the evening would come and I’d have dinner as well.’

However, because the design of each costume meant that they were baggy, Tamzin said she didn’t notice the weight she was putting on by eating so much.

However, when the hospitality sector began to re-emerge from the national lockdown, Tamzin said that she often enjoyed a three-course meal, with each course coming from a different establishment.

Tamzin also moved on to discuss how difficult she found it to keep her involvement a secret – and not finding out the identities of the other celebrities.

While working on the show, she revealed that she was only allowed to leave her dressing room to rehearse her dance and to then put her costume on.

She also revealed that she had to wear all-black clothing, with a t-shirt that instructed others not to speak to her.

Tamzin’s interview comes after Kelly Brook, who was Frog on the show, revealed that it was ‘so lonely’ backstage as the contestants had to keep their identities secret from each other and couldn’t chat.

While appearing on Heart Breakfast on Monday, the model, 41, explained how the stars even wore jumpers that said ‘don’t speak to us’ while filming at Wembley.

Radio hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden quizzed Kelly about taking part in The Masked Dancer, which was won by gymnast Louis Smith.

Speaking about not knowing who anyone was in the show, Kelly said: ‘Yes it was so lonely backstage! We walk around with these jumpers on that say ‘don’t speak to us’.

‘You’re just backstage at Wembley thinking, is everyone else as terrified as I am?

‘Because you don’t have that camaraderie, so you can’t share any of your experience, so you think you’re the only one freaking out.

‘But since the show has aired and we’ve figured out who everyone is, I’ve been talking to you Howard [Donald] and Bonnie [Langford], and everyone’s like ‘did you do this, did you feel like this’ and everyone was in the same boat really.’
