Billie Faiers has wished her sister Sam ‘all the luck in the world’ in an emotional message after she announced she has quit Mummy Diaries after seven years.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Billie, 31, confirmed the show’s new title The Family Diaries and thanked her fans for their support after Sam, 30, said she ‘needed a break’ from the show.

Billie wrote: ‘As one journey ends another begins …. And What an incredible journey it has been ❤️ filming with my sister and family for the past 7 years has been the most wonderful experience and we truly have made the BEST memories all together Fiming @mummydiariesoffical.

Alongside the post, Billie shared several snaps of herself with husband Greg Shepherd along with Mummy Diaries shots with Sam and her partner Paul Knightley.

Billie and her husband Greg have landed their very own series, Billie & Greg: The Family Diaries.

The new series will follow the exploits of the couple and their new children as well as seeing them adapt to live in their new Essex dream home.

After an eventful year, which saw Billie take part in Dancing On Ice, the episodes will capture milestone moments for the family as they continue to make new memories.

Amanda Stavri, Commissioning Editor of Factual Entertainment at ITV said of the news: ‘We’d like to thank Sam and her family for helping to make The Mummy Diaries one of ITVBe’s signature series.

While Sam shared: ‘There’s no family more entertaining than the Shepherds, so I can’t wait to sit back as a viewer for a change and watch the fun play out while I have a few adventures of my own away from the cameras.’

Meanwhile, Billie and Greg commented of their new chapter: ‘We are so grateful for everyone’s amazing support over the years, it’s been a whirlwind of a journey so far but we’ve loved every minute of sharing our lives with you!

Meanwhile, a source added to The Sun: ‘Having her own series has been a lifelong ambition, as is building her own dream home in Essex, and being able to film it and share the journey with fans is an incredible opportunity for Billie and she snapped up the chance straight away. 

‘Billie and Greg have proved to ITV they’re a hilarious duo who not only bounce off each other but aren’t afraid to be honest with each other either. The show is filming throughout the summer and will be out later this year.’

Sam, who is mother to Paul Jnr, five and three-year-old Rosie, who she shares with Paul, said that her ‘family needed a break from it all’ as she thanked the production company and her fans for their support. 

Alongside a series of snaps from nine series on the show, she penned: ‘To my wonderful followers and supporters of The Mummy Diaries over the past 7 years, after many months of consideration, I’ve decided that now feels like the right time to step away and to focus on new adventures.

‘I truly have watched all the most defining moments in my adult life play out on The Mummy Diaries – bringing two beautiful children into the world, my relationship with Paul, building my businesses, creating a home together as a family, and of course all the wonderful memories with Billie and my family.’

She went on: ‘I’m so grateful to ITV and Potato for giving me and my children the best home movies anyone could ask for. 

‘I could never have imagined all these years ago that we would still be here today- 9 series on! But more importantly I will be forever appreciative to our incredible viewers.’ [sic]

The TV personality went on to explain her decision for leaving the ITVBe show, which she’s featured on since 2016, citing her beloved children as the main reason.

She explained: ‘For those of you wondering why, and this is the honest truth; I always said when the children start school, I would reassess the situation and this wasn’t an easy decision to make by all means but I’ve decided I would let my family take a break from it all. 

‘For me personally TV has been my career for the last 11 years, you have watched me grow up since I was 19 and I don’t plan on retiring yet.    

Message: ‘To my wonderful followers and supporters of The Mummy Diaries over the past 7 years, after many months of consideration, I’ve decided that now feels like the right time to step away’

‘I’m working on some exiting projects and very excited for this next chapter. I love you all so much thank you Sam x.’ 

The star also confirmed Billie and Greg’s spin-off show.

She concluded: ‘Also guys the Shepherds are currently filming their own show, an exciting spin off picking up from the last series ☺️ can’t wait to watch it sis.’

Sam’s post was flooded with several messages from her fans sharing their disappointment at her exit and wishing her luck for her next endeavour. 

Sam first shot to fame in The Only Way Is Essex in 2010, staying for four years before moving on.

After a stint on series 13 of Celebrity Big Brother in  2014, she went on to bag her own TV show Sam Faiers: The Baby Diaries, documenting her road to motherhood after she fell pregnant with oldest child Paul.
