Peter Andre has apologised for a video showing his teenage daughter swimming with dolphins during a half-term break to Portugal, after animal rights charity PETA wrote to him.

The singer, 48, told his 1.7 million followers that ‘we live and learn’ after receiving the letter about poor conditions that the mammals can be kept in – and quickly re-edited the video.

Footage about the family’s holiday posted to The Andres YouTube channel featured an emotional Princess, 13, discussing her dream of swimming with dolphins.

A clip then showed the teenager in the water holding the fins of two dolphins, which sparked a letter from PETA highlighting the plight of mammals kept in tourism enclosures.

During a video posted to his social media accounts, the Mysterious Girl singer said he would replace the video, a thumbnail attached featuring Princess and the dolphins and any previous posts about swimming with dolphins.

He told his 1.7million followers: ‘I wasn’t aware of what I was about to read and I’m sure millions of other people wouldn’t be either.’

In the video, now viewed more than 330,000 times, he said: ‘We’re going to re-edit the video and remove the thumbnail so you don’t have to see dolphins in captivity.

‘What you will see is the dolphins swimming in the wild, which is beautiful.’

Andre, wearing a New York cap and aviator shades added ‘we live and learn’.

Later, Peter changed the thumbnail - which had featured Princess and the dolphins, with one of himself and his wife Emily instead

‘Thank you for your honesty and your openness to being educated about these facilities. We’re so grateful to you for helping to spread the word.’

Andre shares Princess, and older brother Junior, who turned 16 this week, with ex Katie Price.

The pair – who wed in 2005 before splitting in 2009 – both posted photos of Junior through the years, sharing snaps of him as a newborn right up to his teenage years.
