Erika Girardi breaks silence on ‘complicated’ divorce with embattled husband Tom Girardi on RHOBH

Erika Girardi after texting her friends about filing for divorce spoke about it for the first time on Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.

The 49-year-old reality star in the season 11 episode titled The Divided States Of Erika was shown three days after sending the bombshell text while being driven to a Paris-themed brunch with her castmates.

‘There’s so many layers to this divorce. It’s so f***ing complicated. It’s very difficult to explain,’ Erika said of her filing to divorce husband Tom Girardi, 82.

She shot a glance at the camera and added, ‘I’m sure that they were very shocked and they’re going to have a lot of questions’.

Erika was then shown walking up to the party as her friends talked about her divorce and later was seen speaking to them directly while sitting around a table.

‘I did not see it ending this way, I was going to hold that man’s hand until he died,’ Erika said as her friends looked on with long faces.

The one-hour episode then flash-backed to three days prior as Kyle Richards, 52, was hosting a 2020 Election Day party just hours after Erika’s morning text informing her friends of her divorce.

Erika was not seen again until the end of the episode when she arrived at the Parisian-style brunch hosted by Sutton Stracke, 49.

The Atlanta native who performs as singer Erika Jayne and Garcelle Beauvais, 54, both skipped Kyle’s election party.

Kyle at her party asked if anyone had spoken with Erika and Lisa Rinna, 57, said they had talked.

Kathy Hilton, 62, asked Lisa if she had advance knowledge of the divorce filing.

‘I didn’t know until she sent that text to us today at 9:15 and I instantly called her. And, you know, I was just as surprised as we all were,’ Lisa said.

Dorit Kemsley, 44, also admitted that she was caught off guard by the news.

‘We don’t know enough about what’s happening,’ Dorit said.

‘We don’t know what goes on behind closed doors,’ Kyle added.

Garcelle at the end of the episode attended the Paris-themed brunch where the women spoke about Erika’s divorce while they waited for her arrival.

‘You think she really filed? That it’s her idea?,’ Garcelle asked.

‘Yes, she did,’ Lisa confirmed. 

The women noted that Erika spoke glowingly of Tom during their recent trip to Lake Tahoe and Kathy said that Erika was ‘a sport’ on the getaway.

‘I remember when I met her last year. We had this amazing lunch. And the moment she mentioned [Tom], she welled up,’ Garcelle told the group. ‘I felt the love, you know? And I said, ”That’s what I want”.’

Garcelle wondered aloud if Erika ‘should wait’ and Dorit caught on that she was implying their co-star should have held off filing for divorce until elderly Tom died. 

Erika was shown walking up to the party as the episode ended with a ‘To be continued’ message.

Kyle and Dorit during the election party also sat down after arguing on the trip back from Lake Tahoe. 

They both told their husbands Mauricio and PK about their dispute before attempting to hash it out at the party.

Dorit was offended by Kyle and made PK leave the party early with her. 

Show newcomer Crystal Kung Minkoff, 35, also revealed at the party that she was a recovering bulimic.

Crystal opened up as she admitted that anxiety from her clashes with Sutton on the trip contributed to a five-pound weight loss.

She was praised for opening up to her new friends about struggling with bulimia. 

Sutton also was shown shopping for a new luxury Bentley with Garcelle.

She took it out for the spin and stepped on the gas at Garcelle’s urging

Lisa and her husband Harry Hamlin, 69, also were shown gardening and discussing Erika’s divorce.
