The two have put together a series of youth workshops to help young people deal with bullying, anxiety and social media pressures, and are looking at doing similar workshops for adults.

‘I feel like my purpose is the work I’m doing with Believe. I love my job on Home and Away and it gives me this great platform to help get my message out,’ she said.

Sam admitted she ‘never imagined’ she’d take on such a project, but feels ‘really proud’ and ‘grateful’ of everything she’s accomplished so far.

She said the Believe community has also helped her through some dark times.

‘Whenever I’m feeling down and out, or the weight of the world feels heavy, I get messages from our community saying how much we’ve changed their life and how they’ve never been more positive,’ she said.

The former Bachelorette added: ‘It reminds me to listen to my own advice.’

Sam has previously spoken about battling low self-esteem as a teen, sharing a photo of herself when she was younger in a heartfelt Instagram post back in January.

‘If I could go back in time, I’d tell younger me… I know it doesn’t feel like it right now, but YOU ARE GOING TO BE OK,’ she began in an emotionally-charged post.

‘You are going to have the most beautiful life. Your pain will go away, I promise. And future you, will be SO PROUD that you never gave up… you somehow found strength. You found the light. More importantly you found yourself.’

Sam confessed that when her sister sent her the throwback photo, her initial reaction was, ‘SO gross! I look disgusting!!! What a depressing period in my life.’

‘Then I stopped… I looked at the photo for a long time… looked at my face. My eyes. And I just cried. I remember how awful this period in my life was,’ she continued.

‘I was EXTREMELY depressed, for a very long time. My life had been full of incredibly difficult challenges… I couldn’t handle it anymore & I felt like my life wasn’t worth sticking around for. But somehow, I got through it.’
