Natalie Imbruglia’s has been a household name in Australia since she debuted on Neighbours in the early 1990s.

And now the singer who is most known for her pop hit Torn, has revealed that after 12 years she’s finally releasing a new album Firebird.

In promotional clip for her single Build It Better, the 46-year-old proved she still has her youthful looks.

The bright-eyed beauty shows off a colourful wardrobe in the footage as she sings along to her new pop track.

In a press statement, the Australian-born beauty with Italian heritage revealed her latest song is about ‘surrendering to the chaos and seeing what’s on the other side of it is a good life lesson.’

The song, which she wrote amid the Coronavirus lockdown in 2020, is an upbeat track which looks to empower fans to stay positive amid dire times.

‘Before the pandemic, I started the process of writing this album in London and soon after, I headed to Nashville,’ she said. 

‘With each session and new collaborator, I started to gain confidence, find my voice again, and craft the sound and style that felt authentic to me,’ she added.  

Natalie, who become a mother to her son Max in 2019 after undergoing IVF via a sperm donor, revealed that much of her personal experiences have gone into the inspiration behind the lyrics.

‘Letting something fall apart, and being okay with that, is something that I have had to do in my life, numerous times, but especially moving into this record and becoming a mum,’ she continued. 

Her last album, 2005’s Male, featured Natalie covering hit songs from male artists. 

It peaked at No. 25 on the Australian ARIA chart and No. 20 in the UK. 

Build It Better is available to stream now. Meanwhile, her album Firebird will be released online, via CD and even in limited edition vinyl from September 24.
