Gigi Hadid reveals ‘the most simple things’ are the ‘highlight’ of being a new mother

Gigi Hadid revealed this week that ‘the small things’ are the ‘highlight’ of being a new mother to her daughter Khai.

The 26-year-old supermodel welcomed her firstborn daughter last September with her beau Zayn Malik of One Direction fame.

And during a recent fragrances event Ralph Lauren she dished to Access about the moments she treasures with her baby.

‘The highlight is I would say like the most simple things, just seeing her learn something new everyday,’ she gushed. 

‘Even if it’s like picking up a cup or like putting a ball in a hole like you just think they’re the best most genius thing that’s ever been born,’ Gigi spilled. 

The fashion sensation, whose little sister Bella has followed her footsteps into the modeling business, was spotted out in New York that day arriving at the event.

Gigi had slipped into a sequined black top that went off-the-shoulder at one side and was fitted to emphasize her enviably trim post-baby body.

She accentuated the New York chic of her look with a pair of high-waisted black trousers and matching high-heeled boots.

Zayn and Gigi waited months after Khai was born before announcing her name and they have still not shown her face on social media. 

A source dished to TMZ in January that Khai was named in honor of Gigi’s paternal grandmother Khairiah who died in 2008.

This past Sunday she  marked Zayn’s first Father’s Day with a heartwarming snap of him holding the baby who was gazing at a light-up globe.

‘Our Khai is so lucky to have a baba who loves her so much & does anything to see her smile !!’ the proud mother wrote in her caption.

She wished her on-off beau: ‘Happy first Father’s Day .. I’m so grateful for all the lil bits of her that are you We love you so much. ‘
