H.E.R rocks a colorful jacket while performing for The Today Show in New York City

H.E.R made a style statement while performing on The Today Show at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City on Friday morning.

The Grammy Award-winning singer, 23, was first seen belting out one of her tracks before demonstrating her impressive skills on both guitar and keytar later in her set.

The performer’s appearance comes just a week after the Academy Award-winning songwriter made her debut studio album, Back Of My Mind, available to the public.

H.E.R wore an eye-catching tricolored jacket that featured partially transparent sleeves while performing on The Today Show.

The Academy Award-winning singer, born Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, paired her top with a matching pair of removable pants that also afforded her fans a partial look at her toned legs, as well as a set of high-top Nike sneakers.

The hitmaker’s luscious black hair gracefully cascaded onto her chest and backside while she spent time on stage.

The Fight For You songwriter accessorized with a pair of round sunglasses and several other articles of jewelry as she performed.

At one point, the much-celebrated musician pulled out one of her signature Fender Stratocasters, which was the result of a fruitful collaboration with the instrument manufacturer.  

H.E.R previously appeared on The Today Show at the tender age of ten, performing Alicia Keys songs on piano.

The singer’s appearance comes not long after the release of her first full-length album, which was made available to her fans a week ago.

Prior to the studio effort’s debut, the songwriter’s eponymous 2017 compilation album garnered her much attention and peaked at number 49 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The release also won Best R&B Album and received several other nominations, including for Album Of The Year, at the 61st Grammy Awards. 

The singer’s second compilation album, entitled I Used to Know Her, was released in 2019 and was comprised of content from two EPs that she had previously put out, as well as a few new tracks and updated versions of songs.

The studio effort was met with widespread critical acclaim upon its release, and it was again nominated for Album Of The Year at the 62nd event, which eventually went to Billie Eilish for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? 

H.E.R was also nominated in four other categories, including Record Of The Year and Best R&B Song.

H.E.R recorded her full-length debut over a period of several years, with its first single, entitled Slide, was released in September of 2019.

The songwriter’s second pre-album offering, Damage, hit the airwaves last October and was positively reviewed by critics upon its debut before it was eventually certified platinum.

Her third single, Come Through, was made available to the public in April and notably featured Chris Brown duetting with the singer.

Back Of My Mind was released last Friday and was met with widespread critical acclaim from various sources and reviewers.
