All My Children alum Ray MacDonnell dies, age 93, from natural causes
Daytime Emmy winner Ray MacDonnell passed away, age 93, from natural causes at his home in Chappaqua, NY on June 10.
The Massachusetts native’s daughter Sarah told Michael Fairman TV on Monday that ‘there will be a private memorial with close relatives and family.’
Ray was best known as an original castmember on ABC soap opera All My Children, in which he portrayed Dr. Joseph Martin over two runs between 1970-2013.

MacDonnell was also well known for playing businessman Philip Capice in CBS soap opera, The Edge of Night, between 1961-1969.
Onstage, the 6ft big-browed actor starred as M. Lindsay Woolsey opposite Angela Lansbury and Ann Miller in Broadway musical Mame at the Winter Garden Theatre between 1966-1970.
Ray acted in several off-Broadway productions as well as kickstarting his TV career with appearances in The Jack Benny Program and Armstrong Circle Theatre.

MacDonnell attended both Amherst College and the Royal Academy in London as a Fulbright scholar.
He retired from acting full-time in 2009.
Ray is survived by his wife Patricia and three children Daniel, Sarah, and Kyle.
