Love Island fans shared their frustration after Kaz Kamwi was picked last in the first coupling on Monday’s show.
The fashion blogger, 26, stepped forward for Aaron Francis but ended up being paired with Toby Aromolaran during the series opener.
Several viewers soon took to Twitter, with some comparing Kaz being the last girl to be chosen by the boys to Yewande Biala and Samira Mighty‘s time in the villa.

At the end of the first coupling, Kaz was the last beauty to be paired with a hunk and ended up with Toby after he’d tried to be coupled up with Faye.
Although not stepping forward for Toby, Kaz and the semi pro footballer seemed to be getting along in the villa and were seen chatting on the beds.
During the episode, Toby said: ‘Yeah there is attractiveness to Kaz because she is so bubbly, so funny. I bounce off her… We’ve got a good relationship going at the moment.’
However despite things seeming to be going well, some fans were left angry at Kaz not being picked earlier by one of the five boys in the line-up.

One fan tweeted: ‘I am late but my only thoughts on love island tonight are kaz deserved better than being picked last she is so gorgeous.’
While another added: ‘These love islanders best not treat Kaz the way they treated previous black girls that went on the show #LoveIsland’
Someone else shared their frustration as they penned: ‘Should I even be surprised that Kaz got picked last? Same s**t every year ffs.’
‘Men in love island are literally so tasteless… kaz is 100% one of the prettiest women in the villa this year and yet again the black woman gets picked last,’ wrote another.
One viewer said they weren’t shocked, writing: ‘Sadly not surprised Kaz got picked last, Black girls don’t get the love they deserve on this show smh #LoveIsland’

‘Of courseee kaz is picked last like every single year even tho the black girls are always the most stunning on it,’ wrote someone else.
And another said they should bring back fan favourite Ovie Soko for Kaz, tweeting: ‘If they don’t bring the most delicious 6ft4 man for Kaz by the end of the week the producers will be dealt with. They should even send in Ovie.’

In 2019, fans also questioned race in Love Island after Yewande was picked last in the coupling following Samira also being the final girl paired up in 2018.
Yewande, a scientist from Dublin, wasn’t chosen by any of the men, or initially even kissed during any of the ‘challenges’ the contestants were told to carry out.

That only changed on day five when she kissed mixed-race firefighter Michael Griffiths.
Speaking with The Mail On Sunday after Yewande’s series, Samira, a contestant and the first black woman to star on the show since it began in 2015, says the similarity with what happened to her is all too real.
She said: ‘I was obviously the token [black woman] on the show, it was easy to work that out. I only had to look at the line of girls when I arrived at the villa.
‘There was nobody else who looked like me. ITV are desperate to be diverse, but that is coming across in a way that is quite unfortunate for them. Yewande is a token, too, it’s obvious what is happening.

‘She is the only black girl, and has had little interest from the men, who seem to like blonde white girls with big boobs – or any screen time as a result.’
However Samira, who survived six weeks on the show before walking out after finding love with Frankie Foster (the pair split when he cheated on her after the show finished), acknowledged that Love Island is tricky as it’s based on first impressions.
Samira said: ‘Love Island is so shallow. It’s about first impressions. A lot of boys have their type and they’re open about it. It’s a shame Yewande is left on the shelf because it seems right now she isn’t anyone’s type.
‘However, it’s hard to blame it all on race. We don’t know what her personality is like – she needs to have some screen time so we can see what she is like. I think people have the perception that black people come across as a little cold and intimidating.’
An ITV spokesman said at the time: ‘We celebrate diversity of every sort and this year’s Love Islanders come from a diverse range of backgrounds with a mix of personalities.’
