And on Monday, Samantha Armytage reached out to Karl Stefanovic, the anchor at former rival Channel 9’s corresponding breakfast show, with a friendly invitation.
Noticing pictures of Karl and family on a farm, posted to wife Jasmine Stefanovic’s Instagram, Sam commented, ‘You guys should have dropped in’.

Sam lives on a farm in the Southern Highlands with her husband Richard Lavender.
Jasmine replied, ‘next time for sure we would love that!! We had to come back for the lockdown.’
The exchange come after Sam made headlines last Monday when she criticised her former co-worker Natalie Barr on Twitter for continuing to speak about her in the press, three months after taking over as anchor of Seven’s breakfast show.
She was responding to an interview Natalie had done with The Australian Women’s Weekly in which she claimed the pair weren’t friends outside the workplace.

After brushing off a question about their rivalry on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Sam tweeted: ‘Look, I’m out. Nat’s wanted the job forever… and she’s finally got it. She just needs to get on and enjoy it – and forget about me (even though I’m unforgettable).’
However an ‘insider’ at Channel 7 quickly struck back, calling Sam’s claims about Natalie ‘untrue’ and criticising the way she has handled her exit.
‘When she left Sunrise, Sam said she wanted to get away from the attention. But the only one creating the attention around her is Sam,’ the insider said.

Meanwhile, the sweet rural updates that caught Sam’s eye on Instagram were taken by Jasmine just before Sydney was plunged into lockdown on Friday.
On Sunday evening, the doting mum, 37, took to Instagram to share footage of her husband Karl, 46, with their one-year-old daughter as they attended a farm in NSW with a pal.
Their little girl looked elated to be surrounded by animals in the cute video, with the first clip showing Karl lift up his daughter in his arms while stroking a horse.

Karl later beamed with pride as his little girl enjoyed her ‘first pony ride’, sitting atop a tiny white pony while dressed in a sweet baby pink ensemble.
‘Country life before lockdown’, Jasmine captioned the footage.
Sydney was plunged into a two-week lockdown over the weekend, after cases in the city increased rapidly.

Besides Harper, Karl is also father to daughter Willow, 16, Jackson, 20, and River, 13, from his marriage to Cassandra Thorburn.
Karl and Jasmine met in late 2016 and married two years later, in December 2018.
The couple welcomed their first child together, daughter Harper, in May last year in a star-studded ceremony in San José del Cabo, Mexico.

Jasmine is a former fashion model best known for being the co-founder of cult shoe label Mara & Mine.
Harper turned one on May 1, with Jasmine paying sweet tribute to her little girl on Instagram at the time.
‘One year ago today you came into our world and filled our hearts with so much love. You are the most precious soul who we love beyond words,’ she wrote.
