On March 21, the two-time Emmy winner wrapped his multi-part docuseries NYC Epicenters 9/11 -> 2021½ which will premiere later this year on HBO Max.

However, it’s unclear if Spike is still planning to helm a musical based on David Kushner’s 2018 article titled ‘All Rise: The Untold Story of the Guys Who Launched Viagra’ in Esquire.

The movie was supposed to feature original songs and music penned by Stew Stewart and Heidi Rodewald, the duo behind the Tony-winning musical Passing Strange – according to Variety.
