Honest: Kate Lawler has revealed that she couldn’t tell her fiancé Martin how depressed she was after giving birth to their first child Noa in a candid new interview (pictured together)

She told The Sun that the first eight weeks after giving birth were the ‘darkest place’ she’d ever been to.

Speaking about Martin she said: ‘He really wanted to be a dad and there was a little bit of worry there for him in the beginning, thinking that he’d made me do this. Like: ‘Goodness, she’s going to blame me for this…’

‘And yeah, I definitely had thoughts of resentment, moments where I thought to myself: ‘Why did I let him convince me this would be a good idea?

‘Why did we do this? Why did I do this? I kept asking him if he’d known it would be this hard? Did he think it would be as bad?’

Kate explained that there were times when she could tell that he ‘felt broken too’ and said it felt like he ‘hated her for being so down’.

She added that she ‘was afraid to tell him how depressed she was’ and that having a baby does put pressure on a relationship.

The Big Brother star went on to say that her partner is ‘calm and patient’ and that he has been her ‘rock’, before adding she ‘doesn’t think she would be here now if it wasn’t for him’.

It comes after Kate burst into tears on social media last Tuesday and told fans she was struggling with her post-pregnancy hormones.

She emotionally asked fans ‘when do your hormones calm down after having a baby?’ after admitted she had even burst into tears over football.

Kate added: ‘I have just been crying at José Mourinho on TalkSport speaking about England v Germany tonight,’ she said.

The new mum wiped away tears as she talked about Gareth Southgate missing the penalty against Germany in the 1996 Euros.

‘It was tragic! But worthy of tears?’ she asked herself, shaking her head.

Kate reassured fans that despite crying over football, she’s ‘fine’, although said she had been feeling poorly.

This was in response to messages from followers saying she hadn’t posted any stories.

‘I was aching all over and I kept falling asleep. It was like someone had spiked my decaf coffee with 27 million sleeping tablets!’ she said.

The mother-of-one shared the story before heading for a blood test, as she was also experiencing heart palpitations.

Captioning the series of impressive before and after shots, she wrote: ‘Moving home during my pregnancy wasn’t as stressful as everyone told me it would be. Trying to get it decorated ahead of the potato’s arrival however…

‘Slowly but surely, room by room, we’re getting there and these photos show what the nursery looked like before we moved in compared to now. I’m so happy. It wasn’t a huge job.

‘The flooring was in really good condition before but we wanted carpet in this room. We painted the fireplace surrounding and replaced the blind, painted and obviously the dreamy wallpaper was a must.’

The mother opted for a colourful wildlife scene wallpaper, featuring various woodland creatures, for half of the room and painted the rest in muted tones.
