Britney Spears’ beau Sam Asghari has NOT proposed, it’s revealed, after singer talked about marriage

Britney Spears expressed her desire to marry boyfriend Sam Asghari in her bombshell court testimony last month.

And while the couple – who have been dating for almost five years – have talked about tying the knot, it’s been revealed that the Tehran-born fitness model has not yet proposed to the singer.

The 39-year-old singer recently said in court during her conservatorship hearing that she wants to tie the knot and have more children, but claimed her conservators – including her father Jamie Spears – are preventing her from doing so by not letting her get her IUD removed.

No proposal: Britney Spears is not yet engaged to boyfriend of almost five years, Sam Asghari, despite expressing her desire to marry the Iranian fitness model in court last month

Britney and Sam have reportedly ‘talked about’ getting engaged, however, Sam, 27, hasn’t made a move to pop the question, a source told TMZ this week.

Some fans speculated the couple might get engaged during their Maui vacation last week, however, the insider revealed that a proposal didn’t happen and the couple are back in Los Angeles already.

Britney appeared in court on June 23 and called for her dad – who has been acting as her conservator to control her personal and business affairs – to be jailed.

She also said she feels ‘traumatized’ by the controlling system she has been placed under.

She said: ‘I am not happy, I can’t sleep. I’m so angry, it’s insane. And I’m depressed. I am traumatized. I just want my life back.

‘I want to end this conservatorship without being evaluated. This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good. I deserve to have a life, I’ve worked my whole life. I deserve to have a two to three-year break.’

The Toxic hitmaker went on to accuse her father and her conservatorship team of refusing to allow her to marry her boyfriend or have children with him.

Britney claimed her conservators have not allowed her to have her IUD, a form of birth control, removed.

She added: ‘I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I have an IUD inside of myself so that I don’t get pregnant, but [my team doesn’t] want me to have any more children.’

Following her claims, Britney’s co-conservator Jodi Montgomery refuted her father Jamie’s claims that she is the one stopping the singer from having a baby with Sam.

Jamie’s lawyers released a statement claiming Britney’s medical decisions are made by Jodi, as he currently only deals with her financial affairs.

Jodi’s own legal team have slammed that idea, stating that Britney’s ability to marry or have a child with her boyfriend Sam has ‘never been impacted by the conservatorship’ while Jodi has been in the position, which she took in 2019.

Jodi’s attorney, LaurieAnn Wright, said in a statement: ‘Britney’s choice to marry and to start a family [has] never been impacted by the conservatorship while Ms. Montgomery has been conservator of the person.

‘I can state unequivocally that Jodi Montgomery has been a tireless advocate for Britney and for her well-being. While she does not control Britney’s financial assets, she is responsible for her personal care, and if Britney wants any issue brought up to the Court, Ms. Montgomery is and has always been ready, willing, and able to do so.’

According to the attorney, the blame still lies with Jamie because getting married and having a baby is still a financial decision, which is currently under his jurisdiction.

She added: ‘Practically speaking, since everything costs money, no expenditures can happen without going through Mr. Spears and Mr. Spears approving them. Ms. Montgomery has advocated on Britney’s behalf for any expenditures that Britney has requested as well as for expenditures recommended by Britney’s medical team.’

During her court hearing – which was held in a bid to end the conservatorship she has been under since 2008 – Britney claimed she was unable to have children with her boyfriend Sam because of decisions made by her conservators.

Britney has two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline; Sean Preston, 15, and Jayden James, 14 and they currently have a 70/30 custody arrangement, with the boys spending the majority of their time with Kevin, 43.
