Iggy Azalea has sensationally thanked her haters after being accused of blackfishing in the music video for her latest single I Am the Stripclub.
The Australian rapper, 31, came under fire last week from those who believed she had used makeup and a dark wig to pretend to be black or mixed-race – claims she swiftly blasted as ‘ridiculous and baseless’.
Following the backlash, Iggy posted a defiant tweet on Sunday saying those ‘showing her hate’ were only helping to promote her new music.

‘To everyone showing me love: Thank you for dedicating your day to me and helping me promote, I love you!’ she tweeted to her 7.7 million followers.
She added: ‘To everyone showing me hate: Thank you for dedicating your day to me and helping me promote, I love you!’
The raunchy music video sees Iggy rap and dance in a makeshift truck, with male dancers in fishnet stockings and leotards dancing behind her.

Following its premiere on Friday, the video has been viewed more than 2.8 million times on YouTube.
On the same day, Iggy responded to her critics with a string of tweets claiming she was using the ‘same shade’ of makeup she’d used for three years.
When someone shared an image of her on the set of the video in daylight claiming she didn’t ‘look tanned’ then, she hit back: ‘I’m the same colour as I always am, just in a dimly lit room with red lights.
‘It’s the same makeup from every other part of the video just with a smokey eye and different wig. Just ignore them, who cares? Let ’em talk.’

After several more accusations, she shared a picture of Armani’s makeup range, saying she used shade six foundation, and furiously added: ‘This is the colour I wear, it’s on the arm colour of a tan white person.
‘I’m not wearing crazy dark makeup at all. Everyone in the club scene looks darker. It’s a club scene!
‘I’m sick of people trying to twist my words or make s**t a problem when all I’ve done is try a hair colour.’

After a supporter noted that some people felt she looked darker than she is and said she should say if the pictures had been ‘edited’, Iggy claimed she was ‘bored’ of the constant discourse.
She tweeted: ‘Or maybe the internet could watch my music video and see for themselves instead of tryna dog me because a random page I have nothing to do with posted an edit?
‘Leave me be, I don’t bother anyone, ppl stay tryna create s**t outta nothing online. Just BORED.’
She later added: ‘F***ing hell. It’s always an issue, when it’s ME. I mind my business – just leave me be. Ppl on here love to twist what I do and say and it’s pointless. It changes nothing about my life.’
