Brie Larson announces she is scaling back on her YouTube channel

She became a YouTuber last year in the thick of quarantine.

But Brie Larson has now announced she will be scaling back from the video platform.  

The actress, 31, recently revealed she will no longer be posting videos on a weekly basis due to her busy acting schedule. 

On the one year anniversary of her channel, Brie broke the news to viewers as she sat on her couch whilst clad in a custom ‘BL’ top.  

‘So I did not think that I would hit the one-year mark on this to be quite honest. I didn’t know how I’d feel putting myself out there weekly in this way,’ she said. ‘I think some of you know that I started this channel, I started thinking about it before the pandemic, and it was because I needed to just like… I needed to shake it up. I needed to feel like I could just be silly and normal.’ 

‘It’s the one-year anniversary, and at this exact time, I’m going to have to slow down on this. I can’t keep up on doing videos weekly. I’ve got to go back to my job. My first job. My acting job.’

‘I am sad about it. This is not the last video. I’m going to do more, it’s just not going to be able to be on a weekly schedule.

‘I would love to keep making things. Keep collaborating with people. The podcast Learning Lots will still be going bi-weekly, so I hope you’ll check that out. I’ve been doing it with my best friend Jessie. It’s just been a true delight.’

While she may be cutting back on her posting schedule, Brie promised there would still be things to look forward to.

‘I’ll still be uploading when I get a spark of inspiration, but for now, I’ll be taking a small step away to get back into my other job. There are ~incredible~ things coming,’ she wrote in the description of her video. 

Since launching her channel back in July 2020, Brie has posted videos documenting everything from her nighttime routine to her adventures in air frying.  

At the time of launch, Brie revealed she was inspired to begin her YouTube channel as the site had been a place where she had ‘learned so much.’  

The Room star explained: ‘Whether it’s been like how to use my printer or it’s been watching like how to be a considerate activist, this is like the place to talk about things that are important and that matter.’

But now that filming has resumed, Brie will be taking a break from her beloved video platform.

The star has returned to her role of Captain Marvel in the upcoming film, The Marvels, which is currently filming and set for a 2022 release.
