He is known for looking smart and sophisticated. 

So Benedict Cumberbatch was sure to pull out all the stops on Tuesday as he put on a dashing display while attending Wimbledon day eight.  

The Sherlock actor, 44, looked dashing in a crisp three-piece suit comprising a linen material and light blue shade, while he paired the look with a stylish fedora.

Benedict ensured his look was Wimbledon-ready, as he put fashion before weather by donning the smart summer suit despite the rain. 

Once courtside, it was truly a meeting of celebrity minds as he watched the sport alongside stars including Lewis Capaldi, Olly Murs, Jack Whitehall and others. 

Benedict was no doubt enjoy the day off and some downtime, as he has been working hard on the lead-up to the release of his new film, The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, in which he transforms into Louis Wain. 

The Studiocanal film is expected to be released in the latter half of 2021.

The 19th century-set movie follows the life of the critically-acclaimed painter, whose work was inspired by his penchant for feline animals, as well as his partner Emily, played by Claire Foy. 

Louis Wain is directed by Will Sharpe, and also stars the likes of Nymphomaniac actress Stacy Martin and Daniel Blake’s Hayley Squires. 

The sketcher was famed for his drawings of cats and kittens and was thought to have suffered schizophrenia in the later part of his life.

Silent Witness actor Benedict and The Crown star Claire, 35, have reunited for the forthcoming movie after previously working together on the 2011 drama Wreckers.

Speaking about the part, the actor told Deadline in a statement: ‘I am thrilled by the prospect of playing the courageous, playful spirit that is Louis Wain and to be producing such a special film.’

Proving he is a fan of director Sharpe, he added: ‘I have admired Will’s work for several years through Flowers and from the moment we first met, knew he was the perfect person to bring Louis’ inspirational and odyssean story to life.
