Richard Wilkins is eyeing off a hosting role on Australian Ninja Warrior

Richard Wilkins recently attended an Australian Ninja Warrior filming with girlfriend Nicola Dale. 

And according to a report in New Idea, The Weekend Today presenter was allegedly there ‘eyeing off a gig on the popular program’.

The Channel Nine show is currently hosted by Bec Maddern and Ben Fordham, both of whom have worked alongside Dickie on Today.   

‘The pair sharing a long-standing friendship outside of work – making him the ideal star to join tennis pro Nick Kygrios and AFL great Shane Crawford on the sidelines,’ the publication reported.

On Monday night, Richard was joined by Nicola as they visited the set of the popular show.

The couple, were joined by fellow Nine stars Erin Bouda, Kendall Bora and Bethan Yeoman in a bid to support Rebecca, who posted a picture of the group in the audience.

‘My weekend today colleagues are here in the crowd to support me. Gosh I love them, this was such a lovely thing to do,’ Bec captioned the photo on her Instagram. 

Richard has been with the network for decades, and was long known around the country as the entertainment reporter for the Today show.

Last month, Richard celebrated his 67th birthday today with his partner Nicola Dale.

At the time, she shared touching tribute to her high-profile boyfriend. 

Richard shared Nicola’s sweet post, which showed the loved-up couple kissing while immersed in a picturesque sunset.

‘Happy Birthday to the most beautiful man on the planet,’ Nicola admiringly wrote with love hearts. 

The former flight attendant and Dickie’s romance was official in July of last year while the two were holidaying in Byron Bay.
