It was confirmed in May 2021 that the show would shift from CBS to the Viacom-owned Paramount Plus ahead of the June 20 Season 2 premiere.

Evil is described as, ‘a psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion.’

The series focuses on a skeptical female psychologist Kristen (Katja Herberss), who joins priest-in-training Dave (Mike Colter) and contractor Ben (Aasif Mandvi) as they investigate the church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and hauntings.

Their job is to assess if there is a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
