MAFS: Melissa Rawson attacked by vile trolls after sharing baby and engagement news

Married At First Sight’s Melissa Rawson and Bryce Ruthven are attacked by vile trolls after sharing their baby and engagement news

She only announced her surprise pregnancy this morning, but Married At First Sight star Melissa Rawson is already being cruelly trolled on social media.

The 32-year-old, who is expecting twins with her fiancé Bryce Ruthven, revealed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show she had been sent hurtful messages falsely suggesting her children are a publicity stunt.

She said she’d received a ‘few comments’ on Instagram from people who are convinced her relationship with Bryce, also 32, is a ‘showmance’ and they’re only having kids to stay in the spotlight.

Melissa made the admission after radio host Kyle Sandilands, who is a longtime supporter of the couple, joked that the pregnancy had kept them in the headlines.

She claimed the news had actually prompted a string of hurtful comments saying her relationship with Bryce was somehow ‘fake’.

‘I’ve actually had a few comments come through saying “how pathetic to draw the process out” – but… no!’ she said.

Melissa has been trolled relentlessly since her debut on MAFS, with much of the abuse coming from other women who claim they are ‘protecting’ her from Bryce.

The couple’s union on Married At First Sight was a flashpoint of controversy this year.

Some viewers accused Bryce of ‘domestic abuse’ and gaslighting, but Melissa always maintained she didn’t view their relationship as abusive.

A Change.org petition calling for Channel Nine to apologise for ‘failing in its duty of care’ towards Melissa gained thousands of signatures.

However, the campaign was dismissed by the network and show producers.

Melissa and Bryce announced their pregnancy and engagement news in a front-page exclusive with New Idea on Monday.
