Jordan McGraw reveals ‘crazy’ details behind filming music video for She on Wheel of Fortune set

Rocker Jordan McGraw, 34, is in the midst of dropping back-to-back new tracks and recently released the music video for She which was filmed on the legendary set of Wheel of Fortune.

Jordan and wife Morgan Stewart exclusively chatted with DailyMail.com about the ‘crazy’ time they had playing Pat Sajak and Vanna White for the video, and the singer/songwriter teased what’s to come for his upcoming tour with the Jonas Brothers.

‘It’s crazy, right? They don’t let anybody do that,’ Jordan said of shooting at the Wheel of Fortune set. ‘We had no delusions that it was actually going to work.’

The songwriter has always been a big fan of the show and remembered coming home from school when he was little and watching The Simpson’s and Wheel of Fortune.

He was shocked when the music video shoot got the green light and organized things as quickly as possible ‘just in case’ they changed their mind.

‘When they uncovered the wheel! I was just a fan for the first two hours,’ Jordan gushed. ‘It’s way smaller than you think but also way heavier than you think.’

Morgan agreed, adding that you need a little elbow grease to give it a proper spin.

'[It was about] what I grew up on and what makes me me and trying to be as authentic to myself as possible,' he said.

As for the inspiration behind the game show concept, Jordan said he always tries to think outside of the box when it comes to the video that goes with the song and not be so conventional.

‘[It was about] what I grew up on and what makes me me and trying to be as authentic to myself as possible,’ he said.

In the video, which was filmed like an episode of the game show with the lyrics of the song as the puzzles, Jordan pulled quadruple duty playing both the Pat Sajak/host role as well as all three hilarious contestants.

The contestants were Clarence, a bit of a dweeb with a bowl cut who is afraid of ‘spiders, clowns, and Seth & Joe Rogen’, Sid who dresses in head-to-toe in Hot Topic with dyed black emo hair and a lip ring, and good ole country boy H.B. who rocks a bolo tie, mustache and a cowboy hat.

All three had their eye on the lovely Morgan Stewart who sparkled in a mint green sequin mini dress and turned the letters on the game board, taking over for Vanna White.

‘It was really iconic to be there,’ Morgan said. ‘Vanna White has a way tougher job than people think,’ Morgan revealed. ‘Those letters … it’s not like a subtle touch, and “oh, there’s a letter”. You have to really press.’

She added with a laugh: ‘We had to do my takes a couple times.’

This summer Jordan has already released Her, She and has a third track on the way in the coming weeks, Search Party. He said he’s been approaching his music in a new way since quarantine and trying to release tracks more frequently.

'This is the first time my music has been this authentically me,' Jordan explained. 'I think it was the quarantine that did it. I sat in a room with a guitar.'

Adding: ‘There were no neighbors on either side of us so we were really isolated in Malibu.

Morgan, who inspired She, is a long time sleep-talker and vivid dreamer and when Jordan would act out in one of her dreams, she would still be mad at him in the morning.

'It was really iconic to be there,' Morgan said. 'Vanna White has a way tougher job than people think,' Morgan revealed. 'Those letters … it's not like a subtle touch, and "oh, there's a letter". You have to really press.'

'She likes to talk in her sleep / A simple conversation turning into a scene / She likes to fight in her sleep / An irrational account of an encounter with me,' he sings in the song.

‘If I woke up after her,’ Jordan recalled with a chuckle, ‘She was already glaring at me.’

Morgan and Jordan dated briefly a decade ago and reconnected over the summer. The Daily Pop host had flown to Paris, France prior to the pandemic to see Jordan perform and before they knew it they were back together.

Things heated up quickly spending so much one-on-one time together during lockdown and, as Jordan writes in the song, the lovebirds spent many a wine-filled night having ‘private celebrations.’

Amid the pandemic, Jordan and the E! host got engaged and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Dr. Phil and Robin McGraw’s stunning Los Angeles home.

They then welcomed a baby girl together, Row Renggli McGraw, who was born earlier this year. Already taking after her dad, baby Row absolutely ‘loves music.’

‘This baby, for whatever reason, is so drawn to music – genuinely smiling and dancing,’ Morgan gushed. ‘It’s the happiest she is. Non stop bouncing up and down.’

‘I take her into the studio every once and a while – I swear, I’m not just being crazy-proud dad – but when the chorus comes on she just perks up,’ Jordan added.

‘I was very prepared to be aware that we didn’t have the cutest baby,’ Morgan laughed. ‘[But] Row is one of those babies that you’re like holy s**t that is one cute baby.’

Meanwhile, Jordan is gearing up to go back on the road with the Jonas Brothers for their Remember This tour next month. The rocker will open for the trio and will also be joined by country star Kelsea Ballerini.

Originally slated for 40 dates, the Remember This tour is now up to 60 and Morgan plans on joining her husband with baby Row whenever they can.

‘If she can stay up that late,’ Jordan said. ‘She’ll be sitting at side of the stage with the giant headphones with mom.’

The Remember This tour kicks off in August with dates all the way through October, concluding in McGraw’s own backyard in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl.
