He became $230,000 dollars richer overnight after winning Big Brother last year.

But in the 12 months since his major windfall, model Chad Hurst has traded in his clean-shaven appearance for a rugged lockdown look.

The personal trainer, 28, made fans do a double take on Wednesday when he debuted his long hair and scruffy beard in a selfie on Instagram.

While he was once known for being impeccably well-groomed, Chad now sports shoulder-length locks and fuzzy facial hair.

Chad was crowned the winner of last year’s season of Big Brother, taking home the $234,656 cash prize.

He said last month that despite his six-figure victory, he’s still working seven days a week as a model and personal trainer.

‘I’m doing everything, it’s killing me and I can’t wait to have a day off to be honest,’ he told The Daily Telegraph.

‘But it’s not really work because I have such a passion for PT and modelling.’

He later revealed it was a bittersweet moment as his late father was a huge fan of the show and would’ve loved to have seen him win.

Chad had previously told Daily Mail Australia he’d applied for Big Brother to honour his dad.

‘I was on the show for dad, and I know I’ve made him proud now, but it would be good to take home the money to pay ma’s bills. She bloody deserves it,’ he said.
