JoJo Siwa chatted with Demi Lovato about her sexuality and even revealed that her first ‘gay awakening’ was seeing Jenna Dewan on a 2016 episode of Lip Sync Battle.
The 18-year-old multihyphenate appeared on YouTube interview show, 4D With Demi Lovato, on Tuesday as she talked about her sexual awakenings.

‘I think I realized that my very first gay awakening was Jenna Dewan’s performance on Lip Sync Battle. I think that was one of them.’
JoJo was 12-years-old when Dewan, now 40, appeared on the musical reality television competition series matching up against then-husband Channing Tatum.
Jenna scintillated as she mimicked Channing’s, 41, Magic Mike character and performed a lap dance on him while wearing a backwards cap, white tank top, and jeans.

She went on to say that a certain dancer in 28-year-old Lovato’s 2015 music video for her hit Cool For The Summer got her feeling some type of way.
‘Do you remember your dancer?’ JoJo queried. ‘Her name is Jojo Gomez and you did Cool For The Summer together…I remember seeing that and just being a little too interested.’
Demi – who uses they/them pronouns – also reflected on the clip as they said it was their way revealing their bisexuality without actually confirming it.
The singer said: ‘When I did Cool For The Summer, that song for me was actually my way of sharing with the world without confirming that I was bisexual. Because like I said, I didn’t come out until 2017.

‘But ‘Cool for the Summer’ was like 2014, 2015. So, like, that to me, it was my way of saying, “I’m not ready to come out but…”‘
JoJo came out as part of the LGBTQ community back in February, and days later revealed she had been seeing Kylie Prew, also 18, for a month.
The Nickelodeon star explained the process as she said: ‘The only thing that held me back from telling the world right away was my girlfriend’s family and my girlfriend because I wanted to make sure that, like, she was ready.

‘You always know. I always knew with me, but I always said I’m not going to do anything with it or be like, “Hey, by the way, I’m gay, but I’m not in love with a girl yet. But I’m gay and I know that.’ I was always just like, ‘I’ll wait until I actually have a girlfriend or I have a girl that I’m in love with and then I’ll do something with it.” And then that happened.’
Siwa and Prew met on a cruise ship and recalled their first encounter to Lovato.
The star said: ‘I knew right once I saw her like, ‘”Woah, she’s really, really pretty. I really like her.”

Kylie went on to ask if JoJo had a crush on anyone but she was a bit too bashful to reveal the real answer.
Over the Christmas break, Kylie came to visit JoJo and her family in Orlando as the star revealed she couldn’t hide her feelings as she explained: ‘The tension was, like, you could cut it with a knife. It was insane.’
The Boomerang hitmaker said: ‘She says that right then she knew it was her and she had had a crush on me.
‘But I was like, “I can’t tell her because she’s my best friend.” And why I didn’t want to tell her is because I didn’t want to lose her friendship’
Prew sweetly told Siwa: ‘If that was to ruin our friendship, I wouldn’t be a good friend.’
JoJo explained: ‘If you are secretly feeling something for your best friend or somebody close to you, and you tell them and it makes something else go away, they’re not a true best friend.

‘It shouldn’t affect anything. You’re allowed to have a crush on anybody you want to have a crush on. It’s up to them if they do something with it.’
Kylie eventually told JoJo that she had a crush on her before the star finally revealed her as her crush.
Things seem to be going swimmingly for the couple as they recently celebrated their six month anniversary.
